When one was living under someone else's roof, one had to go along with their rules. That was exactly the situation Megan was facing at this time. She had come all this way to put Nolan in his place, to make him regret ever crossing her. But the harsh reality was that this was Nolan's turf.
As her gaze fell on Nolan's icy expression, Megan understood one thing with absolute clarity—if she didn't make this call, things would not end well for her. So, without further hesitation, Megan quickly dialed Owen's number.
Owen picked up almost immediately. The moment he did, Megan's demeanor shifted dramatically. Her sharp, icy tone melted into one of sickly sweetness, and her expression softened into something unnervingly gentle.
This sudden transformation didn't go unnoticed by Nolan, and disgust immediately filled his eyes.
"Hey Owen, it's me, Megan. I'm calling to thank you. The Spirit of Life Serum is absolutely incredible! I don't even know how to put it into words. Owen, thank you so much. The Spirit of Life Serum is simply the most amazing thing I've ever used in my life."
At that moment, Megan completely ignored Nolan, focusing all of her energy on praising the Spirit of Life Serum and lavishing compliments on Owen.
"Megan, since you've agreed to be my woman, I'm not going to let you suffer," said Owen calmly from the other end of the line. "You naturally deserve only the best things in life. The Spirit of Life Serum might be a treasure in other people's eyes, but as long as you behave and do as you're told—well, you know—I could let you drink it like water. Hahaha!"
As Megan listened, she discreetly switched on the speakerphone. Owen's voice wasn't just heard by her and Jeanne, but by Nolan as well.
Before Megan could respond, Nolan snatched the phone from her hand. And in front of Megan and Jeanne, he asked calmly, "How's Lense doing? Is he still alive?"
