The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 535

Ten minutes later, Fang looked at the densely packed list of names and identities on the paper and broke into a satisfied smile.

"Joey Cowan, heir to the Cowan family. Harvey Holcomb, president of the Holcomb Group. Barry Blanc, the new head of the Blanc family. Heh, quite the roster. Each one of them is a prominent figure in their own right. Together, they really do wield enough power to dominate the Eastern State.

"Mr. Lamb, no wonder you were so stubborn. You must have thought your backers were untouchable and that no one would dare lay a finger on you."

Tyson forced a bitter smile. "I've told you everyone I know who's involved. Can you let me go now? After all, I'm just a nobody—I don't really count for much."

A nobody?

Fang looked at Tyson and sighed. "Do you really think you're a nobody?" he asked softly. "You're the esteemed vice president of Myth Group—your position isn't exactly low, even among the names on this list. In fact, because you have some influence over the Spirit of Life Serum, these people should have been falling over themselves to get on your good side.

"And you call yourself a nobody? You don't even understand your own status and power. Truly, you're nothing more than an absolute moron."

Tyson kept his mouth shut, refusing to respond no matter what Fang said. He knew arguing would be pointless—it would only bring more suffering.

Fang observed him for a moment before standing up slowly. In a calm voice, he said, "I haven't told you who I am yet, have I? My name is Fang. You may have heard of me, or perhaps you haven't—it doesn't matter. Let me make it clear, I'm the one in charge of Eastland's underworld now. Got it?"
