In the grand living room, Duane Washburn sat at the center, his expression stern as he looked at Preston seated nearby.
In a grave tone, he asked, "What's going on? How did we provoke these people from the underworld? There are at least 100 of them surrounding us outside. For now, we can hold them off, but if more come, how are we supposed to defend against them? Tell me—who exactly have you angered?"
Preston's face darkened as he replied hesitantly, "Dad, I haven't offended anyone from the underworld. But I do know what this is about. I just didn't expect the retaliation to come so quickly and with such force."
He then explained how he, along with others, had formed an alliance with Owen and taken control of Myth Group. He also revealed their current possession of the Spirit of Life Serum.
Hearing this, Duane seemed instantly energized.
"You're saying you've gained control of the Spirit of Life Serum? Is that true?"
Preston nodded firmly. "Dad, I wouldn't dare lie to you. It's true—we've taken control of Myth Group and now have the Spirit of Life Serum. That's a fact. But who could've expected such a swift and aggressive retaliation? Even so, there's no need to worry. Mr. Norberg will definitely make his move, and once he does, everything will be fine.
"Dad, it's the Spirit of Life Serum we're talking about. Others might not understand its value, but you know better than anyone, especially since you've taken it yourself. If we hold onto this, our family will rise to a whole new level."
Duane took a deep breath and nodded. "Indeed. If not for the Spirit of Life Serum, I wouldn't have the vitality I have now. It's an incredibly miraculous treasure. Whoever possesses the Spirit of Life Serum effectively gains access to an extensive network of connections and endless wealth. A priceless asset, truly.
