"No matter who you're here for, at the end of the day, people in this world are in it for wealth and status. By forming an alliance with us, you'll have both money and status and even an unlimited supply of the Spirit of Life Serum. Mr. Fang, as long as you agree, I can guarantee that Mr. Norberg will agree as well. What do you say? This deal is more than worth it."
Fang nodded faintly and said, "It does sound like a great deal, almost as if partnering with you would completely change my life. But sorry, I'm afraid of dying."
That simple admission left Duane stunned.
"Mr. Fang, surely you're joking. With your immense power, no one could touch you. And once you're one of us, you'll have full backing. Think about it—if we work together, you won't just be the boss of Eastland's underworld. Becoming the ruler of the underworld would only be a matter of time. You've got nothing to lose."
Duane really knew how to paint a rosy picture.
Fang glanced at his watch and sighed. "Mr. Washburn, if I had the time, I'd honestly love to keep listening to your grand promises. Even knowing they're impossible, it'd still be entertaining. At least your overconfidence is quite amusing.
"But, unfortunately, I'm out of time. Mr. Greene will arrive in Eastland very soon, and before he gets here, I need to have all the traitors and accomplices rounded up. Right now, Mr. Preston is the only one left. So, Mr. Washburn, will you cooperate?"
Hearing this, Duane frowned as he looked at Fang and said, "Mr. Greene? Mr. Fang, if you can't make the final decision, then how about I have a conversation with Mr. Greene instead? Surely, that's acceptable. I believe that once we've talked, many things can be resolved. After all, in this world, there are no permanent enemies, only eternal interests. Don't you agree?"
Well said, indeed.
