The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 569

"Mr. Fang, what do you mean by this? I've been nothing but respectful and spoken to you politely, yet you choose to humiliate me like this? Don't you feel that it's unbecoming of your status?"

Fang sneered coldly and replied, "What status do I have? I'm nothing more than a dog under Mr. Greene's command. Do you know what it means to be a dog? It's exactly what you're thinking. You and the Norbergs—all of you think Mr. Greene got to where he is because of me. They might be forgiven for thinking that, but how could you not know Mr. Greene by now?

"It's because of him that I am where I am today. In fact, I'm nothing without him. And I'm not afraid to admit it to you—if Mr. Greene gives me the order to die, I will die. This isn't about me showing loyalty; it's just the truth. Because even if I wanted to live, I wouldn't be able to."

Once Fang had finished speaking, he waved his hand, and four of his men immediately entered the room.

"Take the two of them to the car. We're heading to the Norberg family's estate together," Fang commanded.

Terrified, Megan and Jeanne didn't say anything more. It was obvious they hadn't expected the relationship between Fang and Nolan to run so deep, nor had they imagined that Fang would hold Nolan in such high regard.

The Norbergs' plan to win Fang over was clearly an impossible dream now.

Meanwhile, in the Norberg family's council hall, the people inside were furious beyond belief, and the chaotic atmosphere was far worse than it had been earlier.

Vernon clapped his hands and said, "Enough! Quiet down, all of you. It's just a minor setback, and you're already in disarray. Since when did we become so incapable of keeping calm? With mindsets like yours, what future would the family have if it were handed over to you? Shut your mouths, all of you!"

Vernon's outburst silenced everyone in the room.
