The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 568

Nolan chuckled lightly and said, "Don't believe me? That's fine. In a moment, you'll see it with your own eyes, and then there'll be no room for doubt. And oh, if you want, I don't mind letting you personally kill a couple of people yourself."

Hearing this, Megan wanted to lash out at Nolan, but she simply didn't dare. Watching as he ordered his men to drag the kneeling traitors over to the Norberg family's estate, she turned to Jeanne and asked in a low voice, "Do you believe him?"

Jeanne didn't know what to say anymore. Should she say she believed him? Or not? Did it even matter? What mattered now was that today, she and Megan would likely be involved in all of this from start to finish.

This was intentional on Nolan's part. But what about afterward? Would he settle scores with them once it was all over? That was what worried her the most.

"Megan, I don't think it's necessary to dwell on the Norberg family right now. What we should be thinking about is what's going to happen to us. Nolan brought us here and is making us participate in everything. Do you think that, once he's really dealt with the Norberg family, he might turn on us too?"

Megan's expression immediately turned dark as thunder at Jeanne's words.

"Are you kidding me? The Norbergs won't lose! He only managed to kill two Norberg family members who were alone outside. He can't do anything to the real Norberg family! In any case, I don't believe he'll win—I absolutely refuse to believe it!"

As she spoke, Megan gritted her teeth. She almost wanted to shout the words, but in the end, she didn't dare to raise her voice.

At this moment, as one wretched traitor after another was dragged away, the room quickly emptied, leaving only Megan and Jeanne.
