The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 623

Nolan might not trust others easily, but when it came to Pierce, he had complete confidence.

"Good, then I'll leave it to you."

As they spoke, Megan and Jeanne arrived in the living room. Even though there were others present, the two women were beyond caring at this point.

"Nolan, we need to talk to you," Megan said cautiously, her voice softening as she approached him.

Nolan looked at her indifferently and said, "What is there to talk about between us? What happened in the Eastern State is already over, and so are the issues between us. Megan, all you need to do now is go home and wait patiently.

"Don't worry, I won't take your life. But I will, however, take back everything I've given you."

A cold smile played on Nolan's lips as he added, "In order to help your mother and brother adapt to the new way of life, I suggest you go back now and prepare them mentally. Otherwise, the drastic change in their lifestyle might just break them."

Megan became riddled with despair. She didn't even need to ask for details. Just hearing those words was enough for her to understand how Nolan planned to deal with her. In fact, it might not even be called "dealing with her" anymore.

After witnessing today's events, Megan knew all too well that in Nolan's eyes, she was never a worthy opponent. From the beginning to the end, she had been nothing more than a self-important fool who was an embarrassment to herself.

Perhaps it was in her fate to experience bankruptcy, overwhelming debt, and living on the streets…

No! She couldn't accept that.
