The Ruthless Lycan King Fell For His Slave Mate novel Chapter 100

“Where have you been?” Nile asked when Lyra appeared at his side a while later. After separating with Julian, Lyra had gone to her room to freshen up to get rid of any scent that would give away the fact that she had been with Julian.

“I went on a walk with some of the guests and we wandered around the palace,” she told him. “Was I gone for long?”

“Yes,” he said, his voice tinged with displeasure. “Stay by my side from now on.”

“Of course,” she agreed, giving him a smile.

“There are some important guests you haven’t met,” he said, steering her towards a group of guests. “They are from the Northern Packs Alliance. You know what to do.”

Lyra knew of the Northern Packs Alliance. It was a group of three packs–Sky, Northern, and Ferun. The northern part of the kingdom had once been overrun by rogues, but the three packs came together and defeated them. Since then, the three had grown exponentially, becoming some of the most secure, stable, and feared packs in all of the kingdom.

While other packs sought to curry favour with the royal family to maintain their influence, those three did not need to do so.

“It’s so nice to finally meet you,” the Luna of the Ferun Pack, Isabelle, said when they had their attention. “We have heard so much about you, but never had the chance to meet in person.”

“Stories of your brevity have reached even the most remote Northern parts,” Eric, the Beta of the Sky Pack, said. “We were very happy when His Majesty announced that you would be our Luna Queen.”

“Thank you for your kind words,” Lyra said. “We are very grateful to all of you for keeping our northern border safe.”

“It’s all been possible because of His Majesty’s guidance,” Alpha Theo of the Northern Pack said. “He is a tactical genius.”

“With the two of you together, we are more assured now,” Sandra, the Luna of the Sky Pack, said. “It’s one thing to have a great king, it’s an even better thing to also have a brilliant queen. We believe the changes you have heralded will change our kingdom for the better.”

“I agree with you,” Nile said, looking down at Lyra. “It was a long wait, but when she appeared, she turned out to be exactly who I needed. In the short time we have been together, she has taught me many things, and I’m a better leader because she is right beside me.”

He gave her a lovey dovey smile and leaned in, kissing her cheek. Lyra did her best to appear smitten, as if his gaze and words were enough to steal her breath. In truth, she was bidding her time, looking for the perfect moment to expose him.

When Nile pulled back, Lyra noticed Crystal watching them from not far away. Her eyes were glaring daggers at Lyra, and their eyes met and held for a few moments. Seeing an opportunity, Lyra seized it.

“Miss Black, why don’t you join us?” she called to her.

The group turned to look at Crystal, who was caught by surprise by Lyra’s invitation.

“Oh, I did not know she was here,” Isabelle commented.

“She is sorry for the things her father did and wants to make it up to everyone,” Lyra said, her voice just as loud.

“It’s such a shame,” Theo said. “Blacksword has always been one of the pillars of this kingdom. I worked with Alpha Black before, and I would never have expected him to do something so disgraceful.”

“When Blacksword fell, the entire kingdom suffered,” Eric suffered.

“Suffered?” Crystal asked with a sneer, finally walking up to them. “All of you are here, kissing up to the royal family, aren’t you? The king framed my father, and now you get to act like loyal dogs.”

“Miss Black,” Isabelle said, “watch your words. You are talking to the king.”

Crystal glared at Nile. “Am I?”
