Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 100

Daniel shot Jennifer a cold glance.

Jennifer no longer had the accusatory tone she had on the phone. She turned her head and said pitifully, "Charlene, I'm really scared! Can I stay here for a few days?"

Charlene instinctively looked back at Daniel.

Daniel furrowed his brows and said coldly, "Do you think this will help?"

Jennifer bit her lip and grabbed Charlene's arm.

Charlene sighed softly. "Fine. You can stay. I still have a room."

Hearing this, Jennifer immediately smiled. "You're the best, Charlene!"

She glanced at Daniel but quickly looked away.

"Daniel, Jennifer is sick. You should take care of her no matter what! I'll handle things with the company. Jennifer, the Obsidian Group's order will be transferred to you soon. Can you handle it on your side?" Charlene asked as she held Jennifer's hand.

"Let Daniel do it!" Jennifer replied without thinking.

Daniel sneered inwardly. It seemed she had gotten brighter, starting to play the emotional card.

He didn't really care, but Charlene clearly fell for it.

"Alright!" He didn't hesitate much. Jennifer's company was originally his; now, he was just taking everything back. Since she was willing to let go, he had no objections.

Seeing that they could still communicate normally, Charlene sighed in relief.

"There's still a lot to do at the company, so I have to go. Daniel, you..." Charlene looked at Daniel, her eyes filled with a hint of pleading.

Daniel smiled and said, "Don't worry! I'll take good care of her. After all, she did take care of me for so long."

Jennifer shuddered involuntarily upon hearing this.
