Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 99

Daniel found it amusing to watch the dog-eat-dog situation unfold.

Even though Bobby had beaten Frederick to a pulp, as long as the Quinton family wasn't stupid, they wouldn't kill Bobby. At most, they would just beat him up to vent their frustrations, and that would be the end of it.

"Keep an eye on things. If the Quinton family really kills him, you know what to do, right?" Daniel glanced at Alden.

"Understood!" Alden quickly nodded in agreement.

Daniel waved his hand. "Alright. No need to be so nervous."

After saying that, he patted Alden on the shoulder and returned to the banquet hall.

At this point, Charlene and the others were already deep into their drinking game.

As soon as Daniel returned, he was pulled into the drinking session as well. Fortunately, although everyone was drinking happily, they knew there was still a mountain of work to tackle the next day.

The dinner party quickly came to an end.

People started leaving, and the drivers Alden had arranged were waiting outside.

After telling the driver the location, Daniel helped the drunk Charlene back to the villa.

She was in a good mood today, partly because the youth cream had been successful and partly because Daniel had stood up for her.

"You were so cool today!" She wrapped her arms around his neck.

Daniel effortlessly lifted her and carried her toward the bed.

Charlene curled up like a little kitten, her face flushed. "Daniel, what we're doing is wrong..."

He lowered his head and kissed her lips, cutting her off.

"Stop talking. Next time! Next time, for sure!" he said before pressing on.
