Daniel could tell Joshua was a strong martial artist.
"Let me introduce myself. I'm Daniel Ashcroft, chairman of this company." He didn't hide his identity.
That title wasn't something he had given himself. Jennifer had put him in that position while plotting to embezzle his family's assets. After all, he was a fool back then and unfit to run the company.
All she wanted was real control behind the scenes, but now, he had awakened.
"Daniel Ashcroft?" Joshua looked at him in surprise. He knew a bit about the company's management.
When he'd first joined the company, someone briefly mentioned that Daniel was the chairman. But after that, his name became taboo around the office. He never expected Daniel to show up now.
"That's right. Interested in a chat?" Daniel asked with a smile.
Joshua hesitated for a moment. "Okay. But I still have some work to finish."
"I've got nothing to do. I can wait. But with the company in this state, are you sure it can still operate?" Daniel shrugged and walked alongside Joshua into the building.
Doubt flashed in Joshua's eyes, but he pursed his lips and said nothing as he suppressed his curiosity.
"Are you wondering why I'm so calm even though the company's in chaos?" Daniel asked.
Joshua nodded. "Yeah."
"Well, sometimes you have to tear things down to rebuild them. But what I really want to know is why a martial artist like you would rather take a beating than fight back." Daniel stopped and looked at him sharply.
Joshua's face remained unreadable. "I need the money."
"A martial artist short on cash?" Daniel chuckled.
