Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 110

Jennifer looked utterly dejected.

Charlene glanced at Daniel, who was busy in the kitchen, then at Jennifer, who sat there looking lost. A deep fatigue settled over her.

After all, her relationship with him was even closer than Jennifer's, even though Jennifer was his legal wife.

"Jennifer, don't dwell on it. Some things just take time," Charlene said.

She knew exactly what Jennifer had done back then, but this was the only comfort she could offer.

Jennifer pressed her lips together and nodded.

Thanks to Charlene's presence, dinner went by smoothly.

"What are you doing?" Jennifer suddenly called out to Daniel.

He turned and shot her a cold look. "What's the problem?"

"Of course, there's a problem." Without waiting for a response, Jennifer grabbed Charlene's arm. "You're sleeping downstairs in the first-floor room. Charlene and I are sleeping together."

Then, she leveled a glare at him.

Daniel frowned but didn't argue. When he saw Charlene's eyes filled with a silent plea, he headed to the guest room.

"Come on." Jennifer smirked in satisfaction and pulled Charlene upstairs.

At that moment, Charlene finally understood why Daniel had been so resistant to Jennifer's presence. Still, maybe this was a chance for her to reassess her relationship with him. But the thought of his strong, solid frame sent heat rushing through her.

Late that night, Jennifer fell asleep, but the nether energy surrounding her dragged her into a nightmare.
