Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 129

For once, Charlene didn't come sneaking over in the dark.

Maybe it was because Jennifer was still shaken from last night's events.

Daniel stretched lazily.

His current life was ridiculously comfortable compared to that of the cultivation world.

Still, Robert was merely a puppet for the Aurora Foundation.

The real threats were still lurking beneath the surface in Qranross.

And those were what Omari truly cared about.

Daniel entered the space where Robert was imprisoned. He looked at him with a smile.

"You don't have to ask. I won't say anything."

Robert stalked his head with a deadpan look.

Daniel chuckled, dragging a chair over and sitting down.

"That's fine. I wasn't planning on asking."

Robert's head snapped up.

He stared at Daniel with a puzzled look.

He didn't expect Daniel to give him such a response.

Daniel glanced at him.

"I already had my people dig into the Aurora Foundation. And I must say, you're very careful. I didn't find a single trace of information."

A hint of pride flashed across Robert's face.

However, Daniel's next words made his blood run cold.

"But if they realize you're still alive. What do you think they’ll do?" he said, a slight smile showing on his face.

Daniel stood up, leisurely strolling toward the door.

"I believe that you understand their methods better than I do."

"I really don't know anything!" Robert panicked. "Daniel, everything has been controlled by Omari remotely."

Daniel shook his head.

"You're still holding back."

Disappointed, he opened the door.

"Wait!"

Robert gritted his teeth, seeing that Daniel had walked out of the room, and he hurriedly spoke.

"I have a ledger! I'll tell you where it is!"

Daniel’s lips curled into a satisfied smile.

Closing the door again, he leaned against it.

As Robert revealed the location of the ledger, a flicker of surprise crossed Daniel's gaze.

This guy… was something.
