With a loud bang, the chest of the black-clad man exploded in an instant.
The remaining subordinates were terrified out of their wits and dared not move forward.
Enraged, Skylar shouted, "All of you, get out of the way! I'm going to—"
Before he could finish his sentence, a dagger suddenly pierced through his heart from behind. He froze for a moment and turned around, only to find that the person who had killed him was none other than his most trusted godson, Alden.
"You damn—"
Skylar's heart shattered, and he collapsed, his life slipping away silently. A grandmaster like him had died just like that.
After eliminating Skylar, Alden approached Daniel and kneeled with a thud.
"Mr. Ashcroft, I am willing to follow you from now on. You will be my boss, and I will do whatever you command. If you tell me to die, I won't hesitate! I only ask that you spare our lives and let us serve you," he said, his eyes filled with determination.
The others trembled in fear. They were utterly scared of Daniel. All of them knelt, keeping their distance from him, terrified that he would end their lives with a single slap.
"Oh?" Daniel looked at Alden with interest. "You're decisive and ready to give it all up!"
Alden immediately responded, "I know we're no match for you. If we resist, we'll die for sure. But by submitting, there's a chance we might survive.
"Besides, I've had enough of Skylar's abuse! He made me his godson, but every day, he would sleep next to me, making me disgusted."
Daniel nodded and patted Alden's head. "You're a smart man. I hope you'll stay smart. As long as you work for me, I'll keep you safe, but you must provide me with information about Omari."
"Yes, Mr. Ashcroft! As soon as I have news about Omari, I'll report it to you immediately!" Alden bowed.
