Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 15

Daniel glanced at Charlene. Suddenly, a surge of desire rose within him.

Although Charlene was venomous and repaid his kindness with harm, she still had a certain allure.

At that moment, Daniel couldn't help but feel a strong impulse to devour her right there and then.

He was interrupted that morning because he had to save Conor. He had been holding it in all this time, and after killing so many people, it was becoming harder and harder to contain.

Daniel turned around, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for Charlene's villa. He had decided to punish her tonight. After that, he would have nothing more to do with her.

Charlene turned around and let out a small sigh of relief when she saw him leaving in a taxi.

Scarlet looked at Charlene and asked, "Ms. Geller, what exactly is your relationship with our savior? He was so fierce yesterday! Do you know that he killed someone in the bar to save you?"

"Huh? He… killed someone?" Charlene looked at Scarlet in surprise.

Scarlet nodded. "Yes! You were drugged by Sergio and passed out. I thought we were done for, but then, our savior slapped Sergio's henchmen to death. I was terrified. He told me to leave, so I ran out."

When Charlene heard this, she suddenly realized that Daniel must have been the one who saved her yesterday, allowing her to return home safely.

Hold on. Was she drugged? No wonder she passed out after one drink. So, the wine was spiked. That meant the scratches on her chest were her own doing?

It finally dawned on her, and she suddenly felt quite embarrassed.

Yesterday, Daniel had killed people to save her—he must have gone through a lot—and even soaked her in a bathtub to sober up. Yet, when she woke up early this morning, she had scolded him, saying he wasn't a man.
