In an inconspicuous house in Qranross, an old man suddenly opened his eyes. However, both of his eyes were completely white, clearly indicating that he was blind.
Yet, his eyes exuded a sinister aura, and a cold smile crept onto his lips. He reached out and gently stroked a statue in front of him.
"Heh, he's taken the bait. The show is about to begin."
As the old man's words fell, his fingers landed on the cloth doll. Two streams of bloody tears flowed down the doll's face, and a web of red threads connected the doll to a nearby statue. The statue, shockingly, was in the exact likeness of Daniel!
Daniel had realized that someone was setting up a scheme, and it had been in the works for a long time. If it hadn't been for treating Luciana, he might never have noticed.
The more he thought about it, the more unsettling it became. Could his encounter with Taylor Apothecary also be part of the scheme? Back then, he had stumbled upon the shop by chance—or so he thought.
"Interesting," Daniel muttered to himself.
No matter how elaborate the scheme was, there was one thing the schemer couldn't have accounted for—Daniel's experience in the cultivation world.
"Let's see just how clever your scheme is," Daniel said with a scoff.
After ensuring Luciana was stable, he began to sort through his memories from recent years. If someone was behind this, they couldn't have remained completely hidden. He must have crossed paths with them at some point.
However, after some reflection, Daniel shook his head. He couldn't recall any suspicious encounters. Still, as long as he focused on Luciana's condition, the schemer would eventually reveal themselves.
Zephyr sighed softly. "This is fate, isn't it?"
"I've never believed in fate. Even if it is fate, I'll change it," Daniel said firmly. He waved his fingers gently over Luciana, and a spiritual seal formed from his energy settled onto her.
