Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 178

Mikayla had warned herself not to get her hopes up. Yet, when faced with Daniel's promise, she couldn't help but feel moved.

Regardless, she was quickly brought back to reality by the phone call with Whitney.

"Where are you going? You're already part of our company now!" Daniel said as he took the freshly printed contract from Scarlet and placed it in front of her.

"Sigh it, and from here on out, it's our job to handle negotiations with Wellcroft Entertainment."

"A legendary singer like you is usually impossible to even meet. There's no way we're letting you slip away so easily," Daniel added jokingly.

Tears welled up in Mikayla's eyes. She still couldn't believe the contract in front of her was real.

She carefully read through it. Every clause was clear and transparent, with no hidden terms. It was just as Charlene had promised—there was no penalty fee.

"It's a deal!"

Mikayla picked up the pen and wrote her name on the document.

The moment she finished signing, it was as if a dam had broken. Her tears fell uncontrollably.

Daniel couldn't help but shake his head. She had bottled up so much pain for far too long. It was a good thing that she was finally letting it all out.

Wellcroft Entertainment hadn't taken Charlene's request seriously at first.

While the outside world might not know Mikayla's situation, they certainly did.

"Alright, Whitney, this is just them testing the waters. Mikayla was a top-tier artist. It's only natural that she still has some loyal fans," Jeremiah Kirk reassured with a chuckle.

"To think that bitch still has the gall to fight back! Babe, I'll make sure to torment her properly when she comes back. I still remember how she yelled at me all the time in the past!" Whitney pouted, clinging to Jeremiah.

Then, she suddenly whined, "Ugh, the people in this awful town have such nasty attitudes! The hotel I'm in actually has cockroaches! It's so gross!"
