Whitney had had an absolutely miserable day in Qranross.
She had planned to book a flight home that day itself, but to her surprise, Jeremiah had arrived before her.
"Mr. Kirk, why are you here in person? Hasn't that bitch come back yet?" Whitney was momentarily stunned before quickly catching on.
Jeremiah gave her a weary look. "Whitney, you can call her whatever you want here, but don't let anyone hear you outside. If someone records you, your career is over."
"Relax, I know what I'm doing." She clung to his arm. "But you still haven't told me. What happened to her?"
"It seems she really isn't coming back," Jeremiah replied with a sigh.
"What?" Whitney's temper flared and shoved his arm away. "She's leaving the company? What about the massive contract penalties? I thought she was locked in it!"
"The higher-ups made the call. Seems like Mikayla has found herself a real backer this time," Jeremiah explained with another sigh.
The entertainment industry might look glamorous, but he knew better than anyone—there were certain people you simply couldn't afford to cross.
If Mikayla hadn't been disfigured, she might have even made a comeback.
"Impossible! That ugly freak really thinks she can stir up trouble again? I should've done more back then instead of just ruining her face. I should make sure she can never speak again!"
Whitney's expression turned vicious.
Jeremiah frowned deeply. "Just let it go already. That's in the past. Don't create more problems."
"Create problems?" Whitney snapped. "If she makes a comeback, do you think I'll survive?"
She shot a cold glare at Jeremiah, then said in a cold and commanding tone, "Listen to me—you have to get rid of that woman!"
Jeremiah narrowed his eyes. "What did you say?"
"I said, you must get rid of her. Right now. No delays!" Whitney was too caught up in her fury to notice the shift in his demeanor.
Without hesitation, Jeremiah slapped her across the face.
