Seeing Jennifer so persistent, Charlene grabbed her hand.

"Of course not! I sent him out to buy groceries!" Charlene said, then turned to observe Jennifer's reaction. "You know, Daniel is actually... very obedient."

At this moment, she felt a bit awkward. The situation between the three of them was far too complicated. Even if she told Jennifer that Daniel had fully recovered, she doubted Jennifer would believe it.

Besides, Charlene had her own selfish reasons. After all, Daniel was her first man, and a strong one at that, making her feel safe. She couldn't help but have certain thoughts about him.

"He went to buy groceries? You sent an idiot to buy groceries?" Jennifer turned to look at Charlene, surprised.

"Don't worry! I'm just playing along to tease him a bit. Don't overthink it. My assistant is watching over him, so everything's fine!" Charlene lied again to cover up.

"You really know how to play this game!" Jennifer shook her head helplessly.

Charlene seized the opportunity to change the subject. "You know about the Obsidian Group's order, right? I'm swamped! Since you're here, let's visit my company and check it out!"

"What?" Jennifer still felt reluctant, wanting to confirm Daniel's situation and maybe take him back.

But Charlene didn't give her a chance. "Come on. Let's go! The order is huge, and I can't handle it alone. You will have to help me!"

Hearing this, Jennifer no longer hesitated and followed Charlene to the company.

When Daniel returned to the villa, he found Charlene had already left.

"I can't let this happen again!" He furrowed his brows. Although he felt some guilt toward her, it seemed like this was all just a misunderstanding.

He went into the kitchen and started preparing the meal.
