Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 22

"Mr. Ashcroft, what's happening to me?" Alden asked in a terrified tone.

"You've been poisoned, and it's a chronic poison. Follow my instructions to gather the herbs, and we can force the toxins out of your body. Take note of what I'm about to say!" Daniel casually recited a prescription.

Alden trembled and wrote down every word Daniel said.

"This is your reward. You should understand what I mean." With that, Daniel hung up the phone.

When he first met Alden, he had already noticed the poison in his body. Now, this situation turned out to be a useful way to exert both reward and pressure. Alden was a smart person, so he would know what choice to make.

"I want to see what it is. How dare they move it at a time like this." Daniel sneered, getting into Charlene's car and heading straight for 36 Verdant Avenue.

At that moment, the place was packed with people.

"Everyone, be careful! Do you know how expensive these things are? You wouldn't be able to pay even with your lives!"

"Damn it! Are your eyes on the back of your head? Pay attention!"

Shouts and curses echoed.

Inside the warehouse, three burly men were frowning in the room.

"This is strange! That bastard Skylar got killed, and now, all that's left is Alden, that punk, barking nonsense!" The burly man on the left snorted.

"I say we just kill him. Obsidian Group still has a lot of unlaundered money. If something goes wrong, it'll be a big problem!"

Seeing the two subordinates looking furious, the group leader knocked on the table. "Enough! Don't forget what Mr. Dooly told us. Once the goods here are safely shipped out, you can do whatever you want! But remember. These items are the priority!"
