Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 230

A look of pure disdain flickered across Daniel's face.

Just as Derick yanked his hand back with all his strength, Daniel abruptly let go.

The sudden release sent Derick stumbling backward. If not for someone catching him just in time, he would have fallen flat on his back.

"You lunatic! This guy is a lunatic!" Derick didn't dare stay another second. He spun on his heel and stormed out of the room.

Meanwhile, now that the poison had been completely expelled, Samuel felt his body returning to normal almost instantly.

"Mr. Ashcroft, I can't thank you enough," he said sincerely.

Without hesitation, he grabbed the report that Daniel had given him and signed his name at the bottom.

"I'll personally see to this. Your certification will be approved in no more than three days!"

Daniel gave an approving nod. "Much appreciated, Mr. Gallagher. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

"Of course!" Samuel quickly stood up and turned to the others. “I owe all of you for today. I won't forget this."

"No need for that, Mr. Gallagher. Just take care of yourself."

"We didn't do much. There's no need to be so formal."

After exchanging polite farewells, the group gradually dispersed.

Alfie, however, remained rooted to the spot. His brows furrowed with concern. "Mr. Ashcroft, are you sure you're okay?"

"Relax. I'm fine." Daniel waved off his worries.

Then, turning off to Leopold, he added, "Mr. Herman, I'll be off now. When I have the time, I'll pay you a proper visit."

"I'll be looking forward to it," Leopold said with a hearty laugh.

Daniel didn't linger any longer. Now that the poison had been extracted, his enemies would surely come knocking soon.

And frankly? He was eager to meet them.

Outside the Food and Drug Administration office, Zidane watched as doctors slowly trickled out of the building. A grin stretched across his face.

"Hook, line, and sinker," he murmured. "Let's see how arrogant he is now."

Jennifer's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she fixed her gaze on the entrance.

She was waiting for Daniel to show himself.

Thankfully, she didn't have to wait long.

The moment Daniel stepped outside, his gaze immediately locked onto them.
