Betrayed, But Not Defeated novel Chapter 290

Matias could no longer handle the current situation. Though he had completely embarrassed himself, he had no choice but to wave and say, "I'll remember this. We'll meet again."

Daniel lazily waved him off.

As soon as they were gone, he turned toward the hotel manager, who was now sweating profusely. If even Matias had backed down, it was obvious that Daniel was someone he couldn't trifle with.

More importantly, he'd threatened to force Daniel to check out.

That was completely absurd, and this was no longer just a battle of wits. Anything involving martial artists couldn't be dismissed as easily as he wished.

"Now… Let's talk about what just happened, shall we?" Daniel took a step toward the reception counter and looked at the hotel manager with a smile.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ashcroft. This…" the manager was about to explain when Daniel lifted a hand. Then, he demanded, "No need for useless explanations. Call your boss."

Knowing he'd gotten the hotel into trouble and that handling a martial artist was way out of his league, the hotel manager had no other option but to report the situation.

Minutes later, the sharp sound of brakes screeching to a stop came from outside. Then, the rhythmic clicking of high heels rapidly approached.

A woman in a long red dress and sunglasses strode into the hotel, followed closely by several lean and powerful-looking martial artists.

She was clearly the boss of the hotel.

The woman removed her glasses and extended her hand. "I'm Yvette Winters, the owner of Regal Retreats."

Daniel's eyes flicked to the martial artists behind her, and amusement glinted in his gaze. "I'd like an explanation, Ms. Winters."

Then, his fingers tapped the marble countertop of the reception counter. "I'd suggest you tell your people to calm down. If anyone makes a move, there will be no room for negotiation."

Crack! The thick solid marble countertop split cleanly in half.
