Jennifer looked at Daniel with a complex gaze, her voice trembling slightly. "Y-You… have recovered?"
Daniel let out a cold laugh, his eyes full of disgust as he looked at Jennifer.
Even after he cultivated and improved his character for five years, the thought of what Jennifer had done to him stirred a surge of hostility in his heart.
Sensing the coldness in Daniel's eyes, Jennifer instinctively stepped back. Then, she turned to Charlene. "Charlene, what did you do to Daniel?"
A flicker of panic flashed across Charlene's eyes.
She hadn't expected things to become like this. But faced with Jennifer's questioning, she steeled herself and said, "I didn't do anything. It was just a fortunate coincidence that Daniel recovered. Jennifer, I was only worried that you wouldn't be able to handle it all at once, so I kept it from you."
Charlene grabbed Jennifer's arm, her gaze pleading as she looked at Daniel.
Because of what Jennifer had done to Daniel, Charlene was begging him not to act impulsively.
Given Daniel's current abilities, even someone as big and strong as Amarok couldn't withstand a single slap from him, let alone the frail Jennifer.
"No! This cannot be!" Jennifer shook her head frantically. Madness filled her eyes as she stared at Daniel.
It was clear that this situation was too much for her to accept. She shoved Charlene aside and ran out.
Caught off guard, Charlene stumbled.
Daniel stepped in and steadied her, preventing her from falling.
"That crazy woman!" Daniel watched Jennifer's fleeing figure coldly.
Charlene bit her lip. "Daniel, Jennifer isn't inherently bad!"
