Chapter 525

Chapter 525

FAYE

By the time I finished cooking, I was beginning to understand why people said the kitchen was the

a home.

It wasn’t just because food was prepared there.

It was because everyone somehow found a reason to gather there.

The cooks, the servants, the maids.

Even those who had absolutely no business stepping into the kitchen seemed to wander through ev now and then under one excuse or another.

I wasn’t fooled.

None of them had come because they needed something.

They had come because the Luna of Blood Crescent was standing over the stove with an apron tied around her waist.

That alone was enough to become the highlight of the day.

I pretended not to notice.

Mostly because it amused me.

Every few minutes, I would catch someone looking in my direction.

The instant our eyes met, they would suddenly become fascinated with a pot that didn’t need stirring or counter that was already spotless.

One servant became so flustered after getting caught staring that she picked up the same bowl three separate times before finally realizing she had nowhere to take it.

I had to bite the inside of my cheek to stop myself from laughing.

They were trying so hard to be discreet.

Unfortunately for them.

Werewolves weren’t exactly known for whispering quietly.

Even when they lowered their voices, I could still hear bits and pieces of their conversations

Or at least…

They tried to have conversations.

The moment they remembered I could probably hear every word, the whispering would immediately stop

Chapter 523

Instead, they settled for exchanging meaningful glances with one another.

One took

Another look.

Then someone would smile.

Someone else would shake their head.

It was almost impressive.

If they could have communicated entirely through facial expressions, they probably would have.

Martha, on the other hand, didn’t bother pretending.

She had never been the type.

She stood beside me with her arms folded as I stirred the last pot on the stove.

After watching me for nearly a full minute, she finally spoke.

“I don’t understand why the Luna is cooking by herself,” Martha said.

I smiled without looking up from the food.

‘Because I wanted to,” I replied.

Martha clicked her tongue softly.

‘I still think you should have let us handle it.”

I laughed.

‘I know you do.”

She wasn’t convinced.

“That’s what we’re here for.”

“I know,” I said.

“You shouldn’t have to do all this,” Martha saki.

I turned to look at her.

“I don’t have to. But I want to.”

That seemed to satisfy her..

At least a little.

She watched me add the final garnish before nodding approvingly.

“I have to admit,” Martha said, “you’re very good at this.”

Chapt

A laugh escaped me.

“Thank you.”

“I’m serious,” Martha continued.

“I’ve watched plenty of people cook.”

She gestured toward the meal.

“This doesn’t look like someone guessing their way through a recipe,” she said.

I smiled.

Her eyes moved over each dish spread across the counter.

“I almost feel sorry for Alpha Alexander.”

I blinked.

“Sorry? Why?”

Martha nodded dramatically.

“He’s going to become spoiled,” Martha whispered.

That made me laugh.

“I’m not sure Alexander can be spoiled.”

“Oh, he can,” Martha replied confidently. “And after tonight, he’ll probably start hoping you cook more often.”

“I wouldn’t count on that,” I said with an amused shake of my head.

The truth was…

Cooking wasn’t something I did often anymore.

Not because I disliked it.

Life had simply become too different.

Between training, pack matters, and everything else that constantly demanded my attention, I rarely found myself standing in a kitchen like this.

Besides, Alexander would make a big deal of it. He’d say that’s what he paid the staff for

But today was different.

Today, I wanted to do something with my own hands.

Something that wasn’t connected to politics..

Or responsibilities…

Chapter 525-

Just something for my mate.

I looked over the finished meal and felt surprisingly satisfied.

Everything had come together better than I’d expected.

The aroma filling the kitchen was warm and inviting, arid even I had to admit the food looked good.

Martha clapped her hands together once.

“I think we’re ready.”

“I think so too,” I replied.

Together, we began transferring everything onto serving dishes.

Martha insisted the presentation mattered just as much as the food itself.

I couldn’t argue with that.

She helped me arrange everything carefully, adjusting a plate here and straightening a garnish there un every dish looked worthy of being served at a royal banquet.

I watched her make one final adjustment before stepping back.

“There,” Martha said with satisfaction. “Now it’s perfect.”

I couldn’t help smiling.

“It really does look nice,” I said.

“It does,” Martha agreed proudly.
