A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 183

Jasmine sent the two maids out of the room.

Lying there, she shot Winifred a cold glare. "Don't think that just because you saved me, I'm going to be grateful."

What?

What did she just say?

Winifred thought there was something wrong with her ears, hearing something so utterly remorseless.

Jasmine quickly clarified. "I am Madeleine's person. I stand firmly by her side, with absolute loyalty. Even though you saved me, I will not do what you want or help you in any way. Do not treat saving my life as a bargaining chip, expecting me to pay you back. I will never work with you. I want you to know that."

After a pause, she emphasized, "I want you to know that right now."

In other words: get out.

If Winifred thought she could hang around and squeeze more information out of her, she was dreaming!

She was out of danger.

She didn't need Winifred anymore.

And she wasn't going to be blackmailed.

As for what she said in the backyard, she would simply deny it.

It happened in the middle of the night, with only the two of them present, and the security cameras were broken—the Ancestral Wing had caught fire a few days ago, and the wiring was still fried.

If she vehemently denied it, what could Winifred do?

Without proof, what could she do?

Madeleine had Winifred right where she wanted her.

Winifred couldn't escape Madeleine's grasp.

Even if tonight's plan failed and Winifred didn't die, Madeleine would just find another way.

Winifred wasn't about to force the issue. "Jasmine, does this mean you don't need me to stay and watch over you?"

Jasmine's face was ice. "Exactly! Get out."

An hour after Winifred left, Madeleine called.

Excited, Jasmine answered and immediately pledged her loyalty.

"Ma'am, the second I got to the hospital, I kicked Winifred out and drew a clear line in the sand! Don't you worry, I won't have anything to do with her. I will always stand by your side. We rise and fall together!"

Madeleine’s voice was laced with panic. "You're saying Winifred... left?"

"Yes! I chased her out! Ma'am, I am your loyal servant, I know where my loyalties lie!"

"Winifred! It's Jasmine! Could you... could you give me one of your Antidote Pills? No, wait, please come to my hospital room..."

"...I can't hear you, sorry, my phone is dying."

Then, the dial tone.

"Hello?! Hello?!" Jasmine was beside herself with panic.

She couldn't reach Winifred.

But Rochelle was dying!

Oh no...

Wait! A jolt of realization hit her.

There was another way!

Call Holden!

He was the love of Winifred's life. Winifred cared about him more than she cared about her own existence.

If Holden asked, Winifred would drop everything...
