A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 236

Even if Winifred had miraculously turned her life around, Kian wasn't going to change his opinion of her. He only cared about one thing: protecting Iris. He would always stand by her side and offer her his full support.

So, entirely for Iris's sake, he launched a vicious attack on Winifred.

"Winifred is a serial homewrecker! She gets off on stealing other people's men."

"When we ran into her in Kingsbridge, Holden made it perfectly clear to her... he doesn't love her anymore and wants nothing to do with her."

"But that woman is manipulative as hell. The things she's pulled are just unbelievable!"

Though he didn't go into specifics, he painted a picture for Yvette that if she dug into it, she'd be horrified.

Yvette already had a low opinion of Winifred. Hearing Kian frame it like this completely killed any curiosity she had about who Winifred was dating. A serial homewrecker wouldn't land a good man. Even if she used her looks to snag a wealthy guy, she was still just a mistress.

"That explains it," Yvette realized with a scoff. "No wonder she brings a bodyguard when she goes shopping or travels. Her man is probably someone else's husband and doesn't have time to be seen with her."

"Exactly," Kian sneered. "Even if he had the time, he wouldn't dare take her out in public. The real wife would beat her to death if she caught them!"

"Makes sense." Satisfied, Yvette finally started eating, the irritation completely gone.

Iris let out a massive sigh of relief.

The fewer people who knew Leland was in love with Winifred, the better. Especially Yvette. If she found out Winifred had hooked someone so far above their league, it would put immense pressure on both her and Holden.

Kian paused, his fork hovering over his food. He looked up, his eyes locking onto hers. "Blind dates."

"Oh!?" Iris laughed. "Did your parents set them up?"

"Yeah." Kian popped a piece of meat into his mouth.

"Have you settled on anyone? Which heiress is it?"

"I haven't," he said flatly. "I don't like any of them."

Iris leaned over, hugging Yvette's arm, and jokingly played matchmaker. "You should marry Yvette! You two would be a perfect match."
