A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 289

Despite having Lockwood blood, Seth and Annelise were doomed to scrape by in the gutters. The eldest Lockwood heir would be born from her womb, welcomed with everyone's blessings, and showered with Holden's infinite love and protection.

Meanwhile, Winifred was completely unaware that she had been the topic of conversation between Holden and Iris.

The car cruised through the night, its tires splashing through icy puddles while pedestrians hurried to avoid the spray.

In the back seat, Declan Sutton was relentlessly whining. "Carys, why won't you come home with me? Why won't you stay at my place?"

His driver had been heading down the main road toward the Yorkgate Villa, Declan's home, but both Winifred and Quinn had firmly insisted on going back to Winifred's house. Quinn needed at least two weeks of bed rest to recover from her miscarriage. Returning to Huxley's place was out of the question, and she didn't have a place of her own. At Winifred's house, Celeste and Fletcher were both excellent cooks and could help take care of her.

"Carys, we've been apart for six years. Now that you're back, we need to get married immediately," Declan insisted, pulling Quinn firmly into his chest.

Having finished the hearty chicken soup, Quinn was feeling a bit more energized and finally had the strength to set him straight. "Declan, I'm not Carys Foley. You have the wrong person."

Declan refused to let go. "Don't break my heart again. Your face is etched into my soul. I could never forget it, even in death."

"Carys was my sister."

"Stop hurting me!" Declan stubbornly replied. "If you won't come to my house, then I'll move into yours. As long as we're together, I don't mind marrying into your family."

Winifred rolled her eyes. What was this guy talking about?

Still, as crazy as Declan was acting, his absolute devotion to Carys was undeniable. When the car eventually made a U-turn toward Winifred's house, he gave in.

"Fine, I'll stay at a hotel tonight. Tomorrow, I'll buy the house next to Dr. Shultz's so we can be together."

Trapped in his embrace, Quinn's voice was muffled. "I don't have time tomorrow."
