A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 329

"Dr. Shultz?" The woman, carrying an elegant box of pastries from the hotel, looked incredibly excited.

"Yes? Do we know each other?" Winifred asked politely, clearly not recognizing her.

"It's me, Mrs. Chambers! I tore a ligament in my arm doing pole fitness last year. A friend recommended I see you at the Adams Wellness Clinic, and you were the one who fixed it!"

"Oh, Mrs. Chambers. It's lovely to see you. How have you been feeling?"

"Wonderful! It's all thanks to your incredible skill. You saved me from having to get surgery!"

Mrs. Chambers enthusiastically pressed the box of pastries into Winifred's hands.

Winifred tried to decline. "Oh, no, please. You don't have to do that. I appreciate the thought."

"No, I insist! Please take it. It's just a small token of my appreciation. It's so rare that I get to run into you!"

As Holden stood mesmerized by Winifred's warm, radiant smile, a flash of white suddenly blocked his view.

Ah!!

A shrill scream pierced Holden's ears, and something heavy slammed against his leg.

He snapped out of his daze and looked down.

Iris's obsessive fan had collapsed directly at his feet.

Holden immediately crouched down to check on him.

"What... what's wrong with him?!" Iris shrieked over the murmur of the crowd, completely terrified.

The fan's head was lolled to the side, his cheek resting squarely on Holden's dress shoe.

Iris panicked, screaming at the bystanders. "Somebody help! Drag him away! He's crushing my husband's shoe!"

Someone in the crowd immediately called her out. "Do you have zero basic decency? That's your fan. He adores you and was just defending you, and the second he passes out, you're just trying to get away?"

"I'm not a doctor!" Iris snapped back.

"You could at least show some concern! Stay with him until the ambulance arrives!"

Iris scoffed. "I have important business to attend to! Besides, I don't even know this guy. If something serious happens to him, how am I supposed to take responsibility?"

"You are heartless!"

"Haven't you read the news? People get sued all the time for helping strangers! Put yourself in my shoes before you judge me!"

"Stop making excuses! The guy is obsessed with you. The least you could do is show some kindness to someone who supports you so blindly!"
