A Wedding Night Gone Terribly Wrong novel Chapter 78

Students were only responsible for doing the homework; whether it was correct or not was the teacher's problem.

Unlike when Winifred was home—she insisted on overseeing their homework, checking it, and forcing them to correct their mistakes.

Everyone knows the weekend is so short.

Doing homework, correcting homework—it took up everything! When was there time to play on their phones or tablets? Treating kids like study machines, who could stand that?

By cutting ties with Winifred, they instantly felt relieved.

Demi thought about it.

"I don't want to forgive Winifred either. Before, Mom told us to get along because she was raising us. But now, there's no need to care. Winifred is unemployed. She has no income. She can't pay our fees, buy good groceries, or hire a housekeeper to cook for us."

Winifred was useless. Her value had vanished the moment she lost her job. Keeping her around was actually a burden.

Larissa scoffed coldly, "She's going to become a financial drag on our family."

Demi said, "I hope she leaves soon, making room for Shelly."

Shelly was their uncle's woman. She managed their uncle's money. If she moved in, they would reclaim the right to be cared for from Winifred and hand it over to Shelly.

From then on, Shelly would take care of them. All their expenses and daily needs would be paid for by her.

Larissa had just experienced Shelly's warmth today. She was open-minded, gentle, and considerate.

Unlike Winifred, who only forced them to study and micromanaged their lives until it was annoying.

"Right, I think so too. We need to work together to bring Shelly into the family," she said.

Hearing this, Seth's little chest puffed up with indignation. He sat up straight, his small head popping up over the dining table.

"Seth!!" Jordyn, who had been standing idly nearby, spotted him.

Seth took a deep breath, kicked his short little legs, and pushed Jordyn aside.

Jordyn put her hands on her hips, lifting her chubby chin arrogantly.

"Seth, if you want a good seat, tell your uncle to reserve one for you. Stop stealing my family's!"

"Oh! I remember now, you don't have an uncle."

"Then tell your dad to reserve one."

"But your dad has to be as rich as my uncle! A big CEO, to afford a premium seat!"

After bragging about her uncle, Jordyn ran back toward Larissa and Demi. The two girls immediately reached out to welcome her, holding her little hands.

Protected in the center, Jordyn looked incredibly smug. "Seth! Let me tell you, I have older ‘sisters’ too! Two of them! Both of them will protect me. If you don't leave right now and try to steal the seat my uncle booked for me, I'll tell them to beat you up!"
