Chapter 68

Chapter 68 Transplanting Magic Plants

Once the Charged Fire Leech Moss was planted in the ground, its condition clearly improved.

The snow was bitterly cold, and the temperature gap between the Forbidden Forest and Chloe’s territory was huge. Still, for an Epic magic plant, it wasn’t unbearable

Chloe put on the Flora Whisperer’s Cap and tried communicating with the plant.

She said, “Are you cold? Can you handle this eqvironment? If it’s too much, tell me and I’ll move you back. I can wait until i find a better place before bringing you out again.”

She was attentive, but the tiny Charged Fire-Leech Moss could only repeat a few simple words “cold,” “hungry,” “) like it,” and “the Corruption level is low.”

That made sense.

With the system reducing environmental damage, it still hadn’t reached a point where magic plants couldn’t tolerate it.

But once the beginner protection period ended, that might not be the case

‘I need to build that glass greenhouse as soon as possible, Chloe thought.

She glanced at the soil and the fire-element crystal, adding another note in her mind. ‘And check the Trading Post for better elemental crystals. Even if they’re not fire-element, I should keep them for later!

Once her territory expanded, she would eventually use all kinds of elemental crystals to draw Growth Symbols and fill her land with magic plants of different attributes.

She observed the soil for a while.

The fire element stopped increasing once it hit 62%.

It seemed that a single Epic Ignis Crystal could only boost about nine plots of land to that level.

Chloe hesitated, wondering whether to plant the Mutant Fleece-Grass as well.

She only had two Epic fire-element magic plants in total.

‘Tomorrow might bring a blizzard. If both plants don’t make it…

She reconsidered.

‘I’ll try it. If the Fleece-Grass can’t handle it, I’ll just transplant it back.’

Besides, if the plants couldn’t handle this, then once the beginner protection period ended, they probably wouldn’t survive

anyway.

With that thought, Chloe brought out the Fleece-Grass.

The moment she placed it down, the Fleece-Grass reacted in a surprisingly human way. It spat out several fireballs, its branches trembling as if it were cursing at her.

It chattered in a string of sounds she couldn’t understand.

Unfortunately, in this icy environment, the fireballs were tiny, and without the dense fire-element energy of the Forbidden Forest, they were barely stronger than fireflies.

The fireballs, no bigger than glowing insects, hit Chloe’s insulated clothing and fizzled out instantly.

The moment it was exposed to the open air, the Fleece-Grass shrank like a sensitive plant, its entire body curling inward and trembling from the cold.

Chloe quickly planted it into the soil. Only then did it slowly stretch its leaves, still shivering, but looking slightly better. She crouched down and spoke to it. “If it’s too cold to handle, just tell me. I don’t have any way to grow more Fleece-Grass seeds in this environment right now.”

She continued, her tone calm. “So, you need to work hard and purify the soil, got it? Once the soil is purified, I can plant the others too.”

She pointed at the pale, snow-covered ground.

“You’d like to see patches of beautiful Fleece-Grass everywhere, right? You can feel that the Corruption level in the soil here is lower than in other places.”

Successfully unlocked!

Chloe held up the three seeds she’d collected earc, plus twenty me sie’d traded for from NobleScalper.

She said, “See? There are plenty. They’re all waiting for you to purify the soil.”

She sounded like a emeath-talking schemer, coaxing it along.

Hants,

turned out, were easy to persuarle.

As soon as she said that, the Mutant Fleece-Grass trembled as if encouraged and took root in the snowy ground.

A hint of a smile appeared in Chloe’s eyes when she saw that.

She still had Fire Vine seeds, but planned to plant them after the snowstorm passed

With fire element soil in place, those seeds should be able to sprout.

After confirming the condition of both the Charged Fire-Leech Moss and the Mutant Fire Fleece-Grass, Chloe checked the

4:30 a.m.

She had been at this all day without realizing it.

The moment she relaxed, exhaustion hit her hard. Her body felt heavy, like it was filled with lead. The earlier excitement and satisfaction of improving the land were completely swallowed by fatigue.

She practically crawled back to bed.

tructures.

Before closing her eyes, Chloe thought, ‘I need to dig into basic expansion structures. Build a collapsible snow canopy for the plants. Check what materials I’m missing for the glass greenhouse. And a plant trellis, gardening tools, full gardening sets…

‘It’d be even better if I could get an expandable water storage tank.

‘Most importantly… I need to upgrade my room.’

Lying on her single bed, Chloe found the Slime Cabin cozy but far too small.

It reminded her of when she first started working, scraping by in a cramped, box-sized apartment in the city.

‘The house needs to be bigger. There’s no space for anything,’ she thought.

Her eyelids grew heavy, and she passed out, forgetting to collect the loot chest from the monsters she’d killed.

Chloe woke up in the morning from the cold.

Even with a thin blanket over her, she was freezing.

Cold air seemed to seep in through the edges of the door, offering no insulation at all.

The Slime Cabin no longer retained heat or blocked the wind. The indoor temperature had dropped fo around 35-37°F, filling the room with a biting chill.

Drafts came from every direction.

Chloe curled herself into a tight ball in the corner, struggling to put on her heavy winter clothing. She pulled on earmuffs and clutched a Warming Stone to her chest.
