His company would be finished. And if he lost Waldo’s support too, what options would he have left?
He glanced at Lawrence, then at Malloy. Finally, he tapped the table, his voice steady. “Lawrence is taking full control of The Blair Group. If anyone has a problem with that, you have two choices. Either resign, or get on board.”
Malloy and the other execs exchanged stunned looks. Nestor was actually backing Lawrence?
Lawrence broke the silence, calm and composed. “Partnering with Nexus Dynamics isn’t just about picking up a new client. This is a full-on transformation for The Blair Group. We’ll work with Nexus Dynamics to hit the highest industry standards and reinvent ourselves. We’re going to become a top-tier tech manufacturing company.”
Malloy let out a dismissive snort.
Lawrence shot him a cold look, leaning forward with both hands on the table. His eyes swept the room, sharp and direct. “The days of easy money from a single client are over. From here on out, The Blair Group has to fight for every win. We’re talking real competition, better quality, and actual results. I hope you’re all ready for what’s coming.”
The room went completely silent.
Nestor watched Lawrence with something like pride. There was a kind of fearless energy in this young man that he knew he himself didn’t have.
And suddenly, everyone in the room seemed to get it. Lawrence wasn’t just making a few changes here and there. He was planning to completely overhaul The Blair Group.
Those days of coasting along and blending in were about to disappear.
Malloy couldn’t hold back any longer. He slapped his hand on the table and stood up. “Sounds great in theory. How exactly are we supposed to pull this off? Where’s the money coming from? Who’s buying the new equipment? Who’s bringing in new technology? Are we supposed to just take your word for it? And if we drop The James Group, how are we even going to survive? We’ll have nothing left.”
A lot of people nodded, clearly agreeing with him.
He circled back to his seat, sweeping the room with a level stare.
“First, The Blair Group still has a strong foundation in precision manufacturing. The equipment is old, sure, but the skills are here. Second, our company is just the right size. Transforming won’t be as expensive, which is exactly what Nexus Dynamics wants in a partner. And third…” Lawrence’s gaze darkened, “Nexus Dynamics and The James Group are direct competitors in several key industries. For Nexus Dynamics, investing in us is a smart strategic move.”
Nestor felt a jolt of shock. He hadn’t even thought of that angle.
So Nexus Dynamics was playing a deeper game, trying to cut off The James Group’s supply line? Suddenly, Lawrence seemed even harder to read.
He was pushing for reform at The Blair Group, but maybe he had his own motives too. Why would an engineer go this far, unless he had something personal to gain by helping Nexus Dynamics squeeze out The James Group?

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
