This place was nothing like those shiny new apartments downtown. Here, the beauty wasn’t about money or glass towers. It was about history, you could feel it in every corner.
Catherine’s eyes practically sparkled. She fell for the house the moment she stepped in.
“Are you disappointed?” Lawrence suddenly asked, watching her reaction.
She pressed her hands to her chest and couldn’t hide her excitement. “Disappointed? Not at all. This place is incredible. I love it, really.”
She walked right into the yard, taking it all in. “It’s so much warmer than those high-rise apartments. Those always feel so cold and empty.” Turning back, she flashed a big, genuine smile. “I’ve always wished for a home just like this.”
Lawrence looked a little surprised at first, but then a quiet smile crept into his eyes. “Well, from now on, this is your home.”
Catherine beamed. “That makes me so happy. I finally have a place to call home.”
“Come on. Let me show you around,” Lawrence said, his lips curving into an easy smile as he caught her curious gaze.
“Okay.” Catherine followed, her steps light and full of energy.
Walking beside Lawrence, so tall and steady, Catherine felt a sense of safety she hadn’t known in a long time. Deep down, she promised herself that whatever happened from now on, she’d stand by him and love him.
Lawrence gave her a tour of the old house. The ceilings soared above them, vintage chandeliers hung from above, polished wood floors shone softly under their feet. The furniture was simple but clearly high quality, all solid wood with a quiet elegance that made the place feel both grand and welcoming. In the living room, one wall was lined with bookshelves packed with books and a few green plants, filling the air with a cozy, bookish vibe.
Catherine looked around, realizing this had probably been his room. Did that mean he’d be moving out for her?
“What about you?” she asked, glancing up at him.
“I’ll get the guest room ready and stay there for a while,” Lawrence answered.
Hearing that, Catherine bit her lip. Her cheeks flushed and she dropped her gaze, feeling a little shy. She nodded softly.
Even though they were officially married, they’d only known each other for a day. Being that close, like real partners, would take time. Sharing a bed right now felt way too fast, and honestly, a little awkward.

They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
