Nestor let out a long breath, his voice tinged with pride. “Alright, I’m not upset with you. It’s a good thing you managed this on your own.”
“Dad, I’m going to hang up now,” Catherine said.
“Catherine, next time, don’t forget to introduce me to your company’s CEO,” Nestor chimed in, seizing the moment.
His company had just received huge support from Nexus Dynamics, and his gratitude toward their boss was stronger than ever.
Catherine felt her cheeks warm. She decided to just agree for now and figure it out later. “Okay, Dad, I’ll introduce you if I get the chance.” She felt a little guilty. She hadn’t even met the CEO herself yet.
After hanging up, Nettie came over with two coffees. “Here you go.”
Catherine took a cup and savored a sip. Right then, her phone buzzed with a new message. “Meet me at the lobby entrance in three minutes.”
Lawrence.
Catherine turned to Nettie. “Lawrence is here to pick me up. Let’s catch up again soon.”
“Go, go! I’m waiting for your wedding invitation,” Nettie teased, nudging her with a grin. Then she leaned closer and whispered, “If Lawrence has any single friends, you better introduce me.”
Catherine laughed. “Deal. If he knows any handsome single guys, I’ll hook you up.”
“That’s a promise. We have to keep the good ones in the family,” Nettie giggled.
Catherine headed outside with her coffee. It didn’t take long before she spotted a tall, calm figure walking toward her under the soft glow of the lights.
He moved with confidence, his features sharp and eyes warm. Even from a distance, Catherine could feel his gentle smile. Her heart skipped before she could stop it.
She hurried a few steps to meet him. When he got close, she slipped her arms around his waist, looking up with a grin. “Have you been waiting long?”
Instead, Lawrence just smiled and gently brushed Catherine’s cheek. “As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters.”
Shirley was dumbfounded. Did Lawrence not even get what a billion meant? No way. That was more money than he could make in ten lifetimes.
“Lawrence, a billion isn’t pocket change,” Shirley pushed, not giving up. “Catherine just dropped it on a bracelet, and you really don’t care?”
Lawrence looked over at her, his tone totally calm. “If Catherine wants something, I’ll always support her.”
Catherine watched Shirley’s face go through a whole rainbow of emotions. She spoke up coolly, “Shirley, stop trying to stir up drama. You should worry about getting that million ready to transfer to me. And don’t forget, when I put on my grandma’s bracelet, I owe you a slap.”
Shirley’s face went stiff, color draining away. “You…”
She wasn’t willing to let it go. Turning back to Lawrence, she smirked. “Lawrence, it’s sweet to spoil your wife, but can you really afford it?”

Im stiĺl waiting for the update, thank you....
I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
