“Okay, but let’s make it three months from now. I want to wrap up the Resonance AI lawsuit before anything else,” Catherine said.
“Sure. We’ll do it your way.”
She looked up, meeting his gentle gaze, and felt her cheeks grow warm. It was about time their parents met face to face.
Lawrence noticed how shy she was, and his heart melted. She was just too cute. He grinned at her. “Let’s go home. Mom made all your favorite food.”
Catherine couldn’t help but smile. “Okay.” Now she was actually looking forward to it.
Back at the Gates family house, Patrick heard footsteps outside. He set his newspaper aside right away, eyes fixed on the door.
The moment Lawrence walked in with Catherine, Patrick’s face lit up.
Adelina came over, beaming. “Catherine, you’re here.”
Catherine greeted them sweetly from the living room. “Hi, Dad. Hi, Mom.”
“Hello, dear!” Adelina replied with a big smile, sneaking a glance at her husband.
The two shared a look. They couldn’t be happier with Catherine. She was perfect in every way.
Patrick had already told Adelina about what happened at the research institute. Catherine had openly shown how much she loved Lawrence, even before she knew who he really was. The two of them were clearly crazy about each other, and even a quick marriage couldn’t change that.
At dinner, Catherine was definitely the star. All the best dishes ended up in front of her, and she felt a little self-conscious about it.
Lawrence just watched with a smile. When Catherine picked up a piece of braised pork, decided it had too much fat, and slipped it into his bowl, he took it with no complaint.
When talk turned to the upcoming Saturday dinner with both families, the Gates parents were all smiles.
Lawrence stepped out and knocked on Nicol’s door. Nicol opened up right away and raised an eyebrow. “Done with The Blair Group already?”
“Yeah. Fill me in on what’s happening overseas,” Lawrence said as he headed for the sofa.
Nicol grabbed his laptop and started going over what he’d found out about The James Group.
He also mentioned that Waldo was getting suspicious about the identity of the person behind Resonance AI.
“Catherine asked a classmate to help her keep things under wraps. Once we get the video from Veridian, we can officially move forward with the lawsuit,” Nicol said. He crossed his arms, looking at Lawrence. “You know, I really think it’s time to stop hiding who you are. Without you leading Nexus Dynamics, this whole James Group buyout is going to be tough.”
Lawrence leaned back into the sofa, tapping his knee as he thought. “Yeah, you’re right. After the family dinner, I’ll go public with it.”
Nicol grinned. “About time. You’ve been keeping Catherine in the dark for so long. She’s probably going to be completely shocked when she finds out.”

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
