The drug hit her hard, making her head spin and her legs feel like jelly.
“What am I doing? Come on, you know what men and women like to do.” The man let out a low laugh. In the dim light, Catherine finally saw he was wearing nothing but a towel.
“Relax. Don’t be scared. I know you’ve got something in your system. Just let me take care of you.”
“Was it you who drugged me?” Catherine struggled to keep him talking, anything to buy herself a little more time. She forced herself to think straight and snapped, “Did Shirley send you? What did she promise you?”
He paused for a second, then grinned. “Of course she made it worth my while. Once I’m done here, I get a big contract. I get paid, I get to have some fun… Where else am I going to find a deal like that?”
“Do you even know who I am?” Catherine kept backing away, her hands searching blindly for anything she could use to protect herself. “I’m Shirley’s sister. My husband is the CEO of Nexus Dynamics. If you touch me, he’ll make you regret it.”
The man snorted and shook his head. “Don’t give me that. I know who the CEO is, and there’s no way someone like you could be his wife.”
He lunged at her.
“Bastard. I’ll fight you!” Catherine grabbed a water bottle and smashed it over his head.
He barely flinched before shoving her down onto the bed.
Catherine drove her knee up with everything she had. The man howled in pain, and she scrambled away, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at him.
That only made him angrier. “You’ve got some fight in you. Good. I’ll show you what I can do.”
He started to shake. Catherine used that moment to kick him away.
The man tried to stammer out an excuse, but Lawrence was already there, slamming his fist into the man’s face.
The man howled and crashed to the floor. Lawrence grabbed him and hurled him toward the balcony. The guy hit the glass hard, then slid to the floor in a heap.
Blood poured from his nose and mouth, but before he could even scream, Lawrence’s fist came down again.
“You’re finished.”
The sound of breaking bones echoed in the room. Catherine, still trembling, watched as Lawrence’s rage finally found its target.

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
