And Catherine used that money as a wedding gift?
Seriously? What kind of hopeless romantic drops a hundred million just to marry some broke guy? She must be out of her mind. Shirley could hardly wait to see the look on Nestor’s face when he found out.
Shirley walked over and spoke gently. “Waldo, the summit’s about to start. We should take our seats.”
Waldo pulled his gaze away and nodded. “Let’s go.”
As soon as they stepped into the summit hall, they spotted Nestor chatting with someone. Waldo headed straight over, and Shirley called out with a bright smile, “Dad!”
Nestor turned and saw them. His face lit up with a proud grin. “Shirley, Waldo, I’m glad you both made it.”
Someone nearby chimed in, “Well, look who it is! Shirley, you’re the genius behind Resonance AI, right? The James Group’s biggest hit!”
Nestor’s chest puffed up even more. “That’s right. Shirley developed it herself.”
A wave of compliments followed.
“Nestor, you really raised your daughter well.”
“Shirley’s so young and already so accomplished. She’s a real prodigy.”
“And Waldo, you’re lucky to have someone so talented on your team. The James Group’s future looks unstoppable.”
Waldo gave a polished smile and glanced at Shirley with clear approval. “Shirley’s always been exceptional.”
Waldo, despite his own feelings about Catherine’s secrecy, tried to smooth things over. “Nestor, please don’t be upset. Catherine just wasn’t into art. She and Shirley actually went to the same university and had the same doctoral advisor.”
Nestor turned to look at Catherine, still in shock. So his other daughter was just as talented?
Shirley shot Waldo a bitter glance. Catherine showed up with her husband, and Waldo was still defending her? She felt a stab of resentment, then put on a worried face. “Dad, do you know where Catherine got that hundred million she gave you?”
Waldo’s face tightened. “Shirley.”
But Shirley ignored him and pressed on. “That money was actually an advance on her salary from Nexus Dynamics. She’s totally reckless.”
Just a moment ago, Nestor had felt a glimmer of pride for Catherine. Now, after hearing Shirley’s words, his expression turned stormy with anger. He snapped, “What did you say? The wedding gift wasn’t from Lawrence? Catherine earned that money herself?”

I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
Didn’t Alice bring food? She left it. I would definitely have it tested....
