Chapter 234
KINGSTON
The last few days have been nothing short of blissful. No one bothered me much, except for Rowan and Caleb summoning me through the pack link a few times, I’ve pretty much had a vacation with my mate, and that vacation would have continued if not for the mixer Aeliana organised for the foundation.
We are late tonight.
I couldn’t keep my hands off Aeliana after seeing how good she looked in her dress for tonight. Every time I see her in something new, I keep thinking I’ve seen her look more beautiful, and yet, she surprises me every single time. I held off as long as I could, and if not for her self-control, we wouldn’t have made it here at all.
The moment we check into the hall, Pandora Hartley finds us quicker than a waiter can offer us a drink. “Alpha Kingston.” She beams.
“Mrs Hartley, you look beautiful.”
She grins widely, “But not as much as Liana baby.” She gushes, pulling her into an involuntary hug. I’m holding a strong grudge against the entire family since she disappeared and no one noticed.
“Hi, Mom,” Aeliana smiles.
“Oh, I haven’t seen you in forever.’
I feel a hand on my shoulder, my mother’s floral perfume hits me, and I turn around just in time to see her pull her away from her mother. “Daughter,” she squeals with excitement.
Agliana’s smile grows wider, brighter as she leans into my mom. “Oh, you’re okay,” Mom caresses her back before pulling away slowly. “And you look absolutely stunning.”
“Thank you,” Aeliana smiles. “You look amazing, Mom.”
“I feel like it’s been forever since I last saw you,” she sighs, looking at her from head to toe again.
“I was just saying the same thing,” Pandora says.
Mom tilts her head, “You’ve been hiding from your mom?”
“No,” Aeliana blurts out. “Not at all, I just…”
“I called you several times,” Mom says,
I slide my hand around her waist and pull her back into me, “We weren’t taking calls,” I tell them. “My fault, really. I kept her locked away,”
“That’s fine,” Pandora says.
Mom nods in agreement, “As long as you’re fine, Daughter,”
“Mom, you insult me by thinking I’d ever let my wife feel any less than fine.”
Aeliana leans into me. “I’m well taken care of.”
Mom’s smile widens, I’ve easily learned she feels very maternal towards Aeliana. “I love to see this, you two look stunning together, don’t they Pandora?”

“Indeed,” she nods. “They are glowing.”
“Mom, I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the last meetings.” Aeliana softly says, “I hope it wasn’t much trouble.”
“That’s okay, you did all the important planning, and we have a great turnout,” Mom says, motioning to the room. “Your fundraiser slash mixer is a hit, we have two couples looking to adopt already.”
“That was Noah’s idea,” Aeliana smiles. “She helped a lot with the media aspect, it helped us with outreach.”
“I like your friend, Daughter.” She nods. “She is very smart, and respectful. If I had another single son, I’d play matchmaker, but unfortunately, I only have Vittoria.” She says, her tone dropping when she mentions my troublesome sister.
“How is she?” I ask.
“She’s Vittoria,” she sighs. “And we are keeping her at home until she becomes her mate’s problem, so if you feel like popping in for a lecture? She’s here.”
