He kisses her cheek, oblivious to her insanity. “Hello, Audrey’s boyfriend.”

That brings a smile to her face. Jamie boo puts his hands forward. “Jamie,” he says. “It’s nice to officially meet you Luna Aeliana. I’ve heard a lot about you, Audrey is fond of you.”

“Me?” I ask, barely touching his hand while I shake it.

“Yes,” he nods. “She talks about you a lot.”

“Excuse me?” I down my wine, leaving them alone.

Audrey talks about me? What could she possibly say to him that sounds good about me? Or has she been feeding him her fake sob stories about how I ruined her life?

“What’s wrong with her?” I hear him ask.

“She’s shy, don’t mind her.” She sighs. “So, your place tonight?”

Ew. I walk faster, making my way through the crowd to find Kingston, but I stop when I see him with his brother and Seraphine’s husband, all three fully engaged and attentive to what someone is telling them, someone I’m unfamiliar with.

A warm arm wraps around my waist and I almost flinch, but I relax when I scent Noah. “So, Blondie has a boyfriend.”

“Apparently.” I sigh. “But I’m not buying it, she’d never give up Kingston like that. Something is fishy somewhere, but I can’t put my finger on it.”

“Don’t stick your finger in it,” she warns. “It’s obviously a trap.”

“She’s putting on one hell of a show.” I say, “Acting so in love, being polite…” I trail off, something about her unsettling me.

“And she threw this surprise party for Dani and sidekick,” she scoffs. “Like literally a day after they found out? Ugh, how performative.”

That is the one thing that checks out, I’ve noticed how close Audrey and Danielle are, they don’t hang out every day, but they’re definitely friends. “They’re friends,” I tell Noah. “No idea how but they are.”

“Oh no,” she groans. “Tall thing just winked at me.”

I mirror her gaze, “Maddox?” I laugh. She’s been calling me tall thing, but he’s not that tall, he is the same height as Damien, who is at least a few inches shorter than Kingston.

“Yeah, look at him.”

“He might have a crush on you,” I say. And by might I mean that he indeed does. “He mentioned finding you hot a while back, but I told him not to mess with you.”

“So why is he messing with me?” She frowns.

“Because he can’t fuck you.”

Noah groans. “I’d rather he fucked me than stare at me like that.” She says with an eyeroll.

“My Noah,” I gasp.
