Alpha’s Rue: His Shunned Luna (Athena Enchanted) novel Chapter 249

Chapter 249

KINGSTON

might as well have had the best night of my life last night. I got to spend my night with Aeliana in the bed she swore she wouldn’t be in. I’ve been looking to add more of her in this room, and her scent is everywhere in here today.

I woke up earlier than her, early enough to spend roughly an hour holding her and breathing her in to feed my little addiction to her, and when she awakened, she still wanted to be held for a while, until my alarm buzzed, and we had to get out of bed. She didn’t want to leave my side, she showered with me, and halfway through her attempt to wash my chest, she dropped down to her knees and gave me a mind-blowing orgasm. That was twenty minutes ago, now we are back in the room again. Aeliana is wearing my t-shirt, her hair finally drying from the shower while she makes the bed, and I’m getting dressed to go on with Rowan later.

When I finally finish adjusting my collar, I find her toying with the tie she picked out for me, staring at nothing in particular. I settle down on the bed beside her. “Are you okay baby?”

Her eyes shift from the light switch to me. I expect her to lie like always, but she doesn’t, she simply nods. “I’ve been a little low.”

“What can I do?”

“I’ll visit the foundation, I’m sure it will lift my spirits if I see Calen and the kids. I’m overdue for my visit, he might break his arm again to get attention.”

I smile. That boy is trouble, none of my nephews is that troublesome. Calen exceeds their chaotic nature, but Aeliana seems to enjoy the chaos. “I’ll just call and let them know you’re stopping by,” I tell her, reaching for my phone on the other side of her. Rowan had been texting me via Danielle’s number after dropping his phone here last night. “What if I have one of the sisters bring Calen here?”

“No, I’ll see the other kids too.”

The phone starts ringing.

Sister Milan answers on the third ring, and I put her on speaker, unable to take my eyes off Aeliana. I don’t know how she does it, I could stare at this woman for days and still not get my fill of her.

“Alpha Kingston,” Sister Milan says, her voice chirpy and loud. “What can I do for you this morning?”

“Luna Aeliana plans on visiting today,” I say. “Are the littles scheduled for anything else after their morning classes? She misses Calen.”

“Calen,” Sister Milan says, a pregnant pause on the other end, and for a moment I think she is calling the boy, but then she speaks again. “Alpha, Calen isn’t here anymore. He was adopted two days ago, a couple from-, I don’t remember where, but he was adopted.”

“What when?” Aeliana gasps. “I didn’t sign off on it.” She says, her eyes growing wide, and her skin paling.

“You did,” Sister Milan says. “We had been getting quite a number of applicants, and you signed off on a few blank ones that night.”

“I-” She chokes out, appearing stressed now.

“The adoption was finalised this morning,” Sister Milan says. “I’ll get Sister Martina, she was in charge.

“That won’t be necessary,” I tell her, dropping the call.

Aeliana is shaking her head, breathing heavily now. “Siren, are you okay?” I ask, reaching over to touch her shoulder.

She shakes her head, her breath getting even more ragged. “No!” She screams. “How could they just let someone take him without telling me?”

“They-”

“It’s not fair,” she almost whispers, her voice breaking. “I didn’t get to say goodbye to him. He must have cried when they took him away.”

I pull her into my arms, and she tries to fight me off, but I hold her tight. The second she’s in my arms she lets out a strangled cry that sounds like something inside her just fractured.

I have no words, all I can do is hold her while she breaks apart in my arms. She cries hard, her tears soaking my shirt. “I’m sorry, Ellie.” I rub her back, “I had no idea you were so attached to the boy.”

“I’m always losing people,” she sobs.

I’m stunned.

I knew Aeliana was close with the boy, but it didn’t occur to me how deeply their bond had formed. She’s crying so much she can barely breathe, she’s shaking, wondering out loud how the boy must be feeling, what he might be doing right now.

“I need you to calm down,” I tell her, soothing her with my pheromones. “I can’t see you like this, baby.”

“I’m sorry,” She hiccups, pulling away and sucking in deep breaths.
