Movie night got a little heated, but it’s not my fault, I didn’t choose to watch a movie that I’ve already seen before, and I don’t see what’s so interesting about two people drowning to their deaths for a spontaneous love that barely had time to bloom. Ridiculous right?

Well, Kingston seemed to agree because we moved to the middle of the cinema seats while everyone stayed down, and we had a little fun of our own. A little game I like to play how quiet can I be while my guts are getting rearranged? The answer? Not so quiet, Kingston has had to gag me multiple times and put his hand over my mouth so no one ever catches on.

I had just gotten off his lap and was helping him tuck his cock back into his pants when Rowan appeared, once again traumatised by us. “No, seriously. Why is it always me?” He asks, his tone defeated.

I settle back into the seat next to Kingston, my cheeks still flushed from being a dirty little luna, as Kingston had remarked earlier. “Sorry.”

“If you get pregnant, I expect you to give me some sort of compensation because I’ll have known what position made that kid.”

Kingston lets out an amused laugh, nodding at him. “What’s your guess? When I had her in the car? Her room? Ours?” He smirks, proceeding to list just about every place Rowan has caught us in. “The hallway? the staircase? Or right here?”

Rowan’s nose scrunches up with disgust. “I’m telling on you to mom.” He says, and he doesn’t need to elaborate on which mom, he certainly means Luna Estelle, Rowan just might be her favourite son. She came over yesterday with food containers because she had made his favourite and wanted him not to miss out.

“Grow up,” Kingston snickers. “Your mate is pregnant, you’ve done a lot more than we.”

“I doubt it,” he says with an eyeroll. “You two fuck just everywhere, at any time. You are like animals in heat.”

A smile tugs at my lips, “Technically…”

“This whole house has seen their Alpha’s ass while he pounds into their Luna against the very public walls of the house.”

A laugh tickles the back of my throat but I swallow it down, staring at Kingston. “He has a great ass, so that’s a treat.”

“You’re crazy, both of you.”

“But we’re crazy together,” I smile, taking Kingston’s hand in mine. “Right, honey?”

His lips curve into a wide smile, the kind that reaches his eyes and stutters his pulse. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.” He says, kissing the back of my hand.

“Something is seriously wrong with you both, any other pair of leaders would get freaked out by the idea of their subjects knowing when and how it is they perform their marital duties.”

“Desires,” Kingston corrects him. “There’s nothing dutiful about the way I touch her, and let them hear and see, That way they know how in love we are.”

God that makes my little girl heart skip so many important beats that I keep thinking I flatlined, died, and went to heaven.

Rowan is hell-bent on scolding us. “Well keep that love behind closed doors.”

“You still walk into our closed doors,” Kingston shoots back.

His lips part, but nothing comes out, hs pauses when he hears Danielle call his name. “Rowan,” she calls from below, right where Noah and Gamma Caleb are arguing about the movie.

Rowan turns instantly, “Yes, babe?”

She looks horrified, eyes wide, face paling, and she has a shitload of toilet paper in her hand. “I’m bleeding.” She swallows, her voice small, panicked.

Rowan pauses, as if examining her to see where the blood is coming from, but he must find nothing because I don’t either. “What are you saying, Dani?” He asks, walking down the steps. “Did you get hurt?”

“I’m bleeding,” she repeats, this time sounding more scared than before.

Kingston curses beside me, catching on before anyone else in the room does. Danielle shakes her head, a single tear rolling down her cheeks. “I don’t know what happened, I just went to the bathroom because I thought I peed myself, but I didn’t, and it..it just, it didn’t stop.”

“Oh, God.” I gasp.

Rowan wraps an arm around Danielle just as Noah runs out the door, “It’s okay, let’s go upstairs.” He tells her, his voice calm, but I catch the facade wrapped around it. He is just as freaked out as she is.

“I think something’s happened to the baby,” she tells him, her voice breaking like it’s wrapped in a sob.

“No, no,” Rowan says, once again too calm. “The baby is okay, you’re okay.”

“Promise?”

“Yeah, I can feel him.” He says, carrying her out of the room.

I rise, trying to process what just happened here. Danielle was watching the movie too, she was just fine, and now there are droplets of blood where she stood, and I doubt if she noticed that.

“King, tell me he isn’t lying and I read him wrong?” I swallow. Rowan rarely lies, and so I caught onto his tells a long time ago, and that calmness right there was a tell. “I’m scared,” I tell Kingston. Not for me, but for them. For Rowan and Danielle, it’s so weird seeing fear in her eyes when she is one of the strongest women in this pack.

Kingston hugs me from behind, “She’s going to be okay.” He says, “I hope.”

We spend a few minutes in the cinema, and when Noah returns she lets us know she went to get Maddox. My sweet friend, even though she had been getting snapped at by Danielle all day she still ran to get help, she acted quickly.

Kingston tries to reach Rowan through the pack link, and that’s when we learn they’re not in the house anymore, Maddox rushed them to the hospital because Danielle is in pretty bad condition,

I drive us to the hospital in Noah’s car, it’s much more roomy and comfortable. We arrive at the hospital just minutes after Rowan and Danielle, and we spot him in the waiting room, alone on the bench like he has no hope left. He does, we’re his hope.

“What happened?” That’s the first thing that Kingston asks, his tone careful and sympathetic.
