I shrug, “It’s not exactly shocking, and it’s not my business.”

She frowns, “You’re not surprised he kissed her? Three times?”

“Four,” Noah corrects her with a huge smile on her face.

“Noah Fren!” Aeliana gasps.

“I’m sorry, it just happened.” She pouts, “I won’t kiss him again.”

Aeliana sighs, shaking her head. And then she pauses, staring me up and down. “Why are you not freaking out?”

“Because they’re both adults and I saw it coming.”

Noah tugs at my shirt, smiling. “Did he mention me?”

“Don’t answer that,” Aeliana warns. “Where’s Rowan? This is wrong, the open marriage thing doesn’t happen to make it okay, this isn’t going to end well for either one of you.”

“Stop it, come with me,” I tell her, dragging her away from the hallway. “Baby, Noah isn’t a little girl.”

“She likes him.” She huffs, stomping her foot.

“And you think he doesn’t care about her?”

“He does, but this…”

“Siren, are you really clueless about chemistry between people, or were you just ignoring it because you thought nothing would happen?” I raise an eyebrow, because whatever mess Rowan and Noah have got into has always been obvious. I’ve seen it since the day we picked her up at the airport.

“I didn’t see anything,” she groans. “She’s married for crying out loud.”

“He knows that,” I smile, caressing her hair. I understand why she’s worried, but this mess is complicated, and I’d rather she not stress herself with it. We have problems of our own, problems she keeps ignoring for God knows what reasons. “They both do, I’ll talk to him. Dani told him to find himself a girlfriend.”

“Not My Noah,” she huffs, hitting me in the chest when I laugh. “I’m serious, Kingston. She likes him a lot, she doesn’t smile like that for just anyone. And she listens to everything he says…” she gasps, eyes widening. “I should have seen it before but like you said, I’m indeed chemistry blind sometimes. But Noah is going to get hurt, he’s going to hurt her when Danielle decides she’s mourned their child enough and wants her husband back.”

“I’ll have a word with him,” I sigh. But I don’t think that’ll stop anything, Rowan cracked, and Noah is persuasive, the woman gets what she wants and Rowan is on that list, not even the goddess will be stopping them. They’re both interested in each other.

Aeliana nudges me, “What are you not telling me?”

“He mentioned the kiss this morning, but he didn’t seem to regret it at all, and neither did she. They’ll keep doing this until like you said, one of them is hurt.”

She swallows, shaking her head, “It’s going to be her.”
