The annoying laughter grows louder.

I follow it to the living room which has been turned into an open bar, Audrey, Seraphine, Danielle, Gemma, and three others who were present at training are here, surrounding the table. “Excuse me,” I clear my throat, all heads turning in my direction.
“What’s going on here?” I raise an eyebrow, “Why do you have so much wine out here? And more importantly, what’s with the screaming?”
“Seraphine can’t have wine.”
I pause, my eyes shifting to the one person I think has all her brain cells in the room, and she’s not smiling. She’s in a corner, drinking straight from a red wine bottle. “In your little circle, this calls for celebration?” I frown.
Gemma slaps Seraphine’s arm, “Tell her,” she says, her smile widening.
“Ask me why,” Seraphine grins. “Come on, be a spot.”
“Why?” I sigh, ready to hear some ludicrous bullshit about her being on a cleansing journey, but what she says next shocks me.
Her head tilts and she smiles, “I’m pregnant.” She says, her hands coming to her stomach, cradling a barely there bump.
Pregnant?
Seraphine is pregnant, with Brandon’s child? My gaze drops to her stomach again. It takes me a minute to see it, but she looks less pregnant than she would if she had just had a big lunch.
“What?” I choke out. My stomach turns at the horror.
What games is the goddess playing?
Rowan and Danielle couldn’t keep their baby, they’ll never have one that’s biologically theirs, and yet Seraphine and Brandon can have a child? How is that fair?
How can she let that kind of evil multiply?
I feel sorry for their child, sorry for the life he’s getting born into, the parents he’s having. Just great, moon goddess, the demons are now procreating. What next? You know what, sound the trumpets, let’s get this over with, goddess.
“Wha-what?” Seraphine gasps, holding
A protective hand over her flat belly. I blink, finding everyone gaping at me. I didn’t mean to say that out loud, but it slipped, I can thank Dr Eleanor for that. “What did you say?” Seraphine gasps.
I shrug, just because I didn’t mean to say it out loud doesn’t mean I don’t feel that way. “Judging by

everyone’s faces, you heard me just fine.”
“How could you say that,” she frowns. “You’re supposed to be congratulating me, Aeliana.”
“On what?” I scoff. “Getting pregnant is the dumbest thing you’ve ever done, Sera. It’s fucking selfish of you to have his child, you’re ruining an innocent life.”
“Aeliana,” Audrey snaps, holding Seraphine back as if to protect her from her. “I know you don’t like your sister, but could just shut up if you have nothing nice to say. How could you?”
“You selfish bitch,” Sera cries out, her crocodile tears slipping. “It’s because I’m pregnant first, isn’t it? You hate not being first, you have always been jealous of my happiness!”
“Jealous?” I almost laugh. “Of what? You’re creating a minion to mould into you, and that thing you call your husband. What exactly am I jealous of? I don’t want a fucking kid, and if I did want one I wouldn’t be procreating with a monster.”
People gasp, talking in hushed whispers. “Aeliana, that’s harsh.” Danielle hisses. “You can’t speak that way about a child, I mean it’s barely here, and you’re labelling it just because you don’t like Seraphine.”
Now I laugh.
It’s cute that they think this is over some petty sibling rivalry. I don’t argue, I don’t try to defend myself or take back my words, I simply move closer. “You want congratulations?” I raise an eyebrow, reaching for one of the glasses on the table. I raise it to her and take a sip. “Congratulations on your mini me, or is it mini..” I gag, unable to say his name. “Him? Either way, I stand by what I said. Your child is fucked. If you have any sense of humanity within you, then you’re going to have an abortion.”
Again, everyone gasps. “Luna Aeliana! That’s cruel.” Gemma hisses. “What is wrong with you?”
