Audrey steps forward, glaring at me. “You think you’re funny?” She snatches the glass from me. “We’ll see who has the last laugh today.” She whispers.

“Try me,” I warn, overconfident in my ability to retaliate. If she tries one more thing, she’s gone from this house, she’ll be out on the street or back in Gamma Cole’s house.

I turn away from the dirty stares, making my way to the kitchen. I’m not halfway there when my phone buzzes in the waistband of my leggings. Whoever is calling ends the call before I can answer. An unknown contact stares at me. I try to call back, but the number is unreachable, and yet the very next second, I receive a video from the very same contact.

I don’t think twice before playing it, nothing about it sets off an alarm, but the second the video starts playing my heart sinks.

I’ve never seen this video, but that’s me in it.

This is the video that started it all, the sex tape that ruined my life, the one that birthed several duplicates that never happened.

My chest burns, fingers trembling while I watch myself. I look so different, lying naked in the cheap motel bed, staring helplessly at the camera, my eyes are so unfocused.

The memories come rushing back as I watch myself on the screen, motionless like the doll he made me

out to be. His face is hidden, and there’s hardly any sound on the phone, but I hear it, I hear him.

When he pushes my legs apart on the screen, I scream, smashing the phone on the floor. It doesn’t break, the darn thing keeps playing so I grab the vase closest to me and I start smashing it against the phone. “Luna Aeliana!” Someone gasps. I keep hitting the phone until the glass vase is nothing but shards that I smash against it, slapping my hand against it, trying to destroy that video.

“What is she doing?”

“She just loves attention,” Seraphine says.

The sound of her voice pulls me out of the trance I’m in, her voice is so clear it nerves me. I turn my head, chest rising and falling as I stare at her. “You did this!” I snap, pointing at her. “It’s your fault!” ! scream. “You brought that demon into my life, you’re the reason he hurt me!”

“What’s going on?” Danielle gasps, finally moving from her seat. “Luna Aeliana, you’re bleeding. You hurt yourself.”
