Chapter 113

Chapter 113

‘Great, just what I needed, an orca pod,’ Sierra thought, letting out a long, silent sigh. She stared at the sea, which was almost black with orcas, counting at least a dozen of them.

That dolphin hadn’t jumped on its own. The orcas had passed it around, tossing it into the air.

Sierra glanced at the poor, half-dead dolphin, and then at the infamous troublemakers lurking beneath the waves. For a moment, she wasn’t sure if she should say anything.

But Sierra had underestimated just how much the orcas liked her.

The experts were still scratching their heads over why the orcas had suddenly tossed a dolphin onto the boat, but by the time they started to figure it out, the orcas were already gone.

But less than five minutes later, the orcas came back in a group. With a flip of their tails, they sent several dead stingrays flying onto the deck.

The lead orca spouted water from its blowhole, and then the whole pod started leaping out of the water.

“Are these orcas nuts or what?” one of the crew members couldn’t help but grimace.

After all, in normal conditions, no animal would bring a dolphin, and then the stingrays.

Now they were even dancing around, like they were trying to butter them up!

Everyone was staring at Sebastian.

Feeling all those eyes on him, Sebastian coughed, putting on an act. “I’ve helped a lot of orcas around here before. They’re probably just here to thank me. Whenever I show up, they always bring me something.”

As soon as Sebastian finished speaking, the orcas clearly weren’t having it.

They started leaping at the surface, holding seawater in their mouths and doing their best to spray it all over Sebastian.

Sebastian ended up drenched from head to toe.

His smile nearly faltered, but he quickly wiped his face and said, “Orcas are fond of people. When they’re happy, they’ll spray water at you. It’s just their way of showing affection.”

“Bullshit!” chirped the smallest orca in the pod. “The dolphin and stingrays were for the pretty human next to you, not you! And quit acting like you’re the hero.

“You’re the one who drove us onto the beach, left us stranded, and then kept taking endless pictures! Every fish around here can’t stand you, you poser!”

Sierra swore she saw the orca roll its eyes.

Sierra couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Her laughter broke the silence, and suddenly everyone turned to look at her, even Sebastian.

He was already dying of embarrassment, and just when he thought he’d managed to recover, he got roasted by Sierra, the animal expert from Hustralia.

Sebastian’s face couldn’t get any darker. “Sierra, what are you laughing at now?”

Sierra blinked, grinning like she was just joking around. “The orca said you’re a total poser.”

Chapter 113

Sebastian had been working overtime to boost his reputation in the conservation world, but all he’d managed to do was seriously annoy the local marine creatures.

The ocean’s residents couldn’t do much to him, but that didn’t mean Sierra was powerless.

Sierra shot Sebastian a glare, feigning surprise. “Mr. Wiggins, aren’t you supposed to have some magical bond with animals? Don’t tell me you can’t even understand what they’re saying?”

“Oh, come on!” Sebastian gave her a look like she’d lost her mind. “My animal affinity comes from growing up here. The animals just pick up on how much I care, so they stick around.”

He snorted. “Not that nonsense about talking to animals you keep spouting. There’s no such thing, not in this world.”

After saying that, he figured Sierra would finally quit calling him out in front of everyone.

But he still underestimated how much patience the Hustralians had left. As soon as he finished, Sierra cracked up, and even her fellow conservationists couldn’t hold back their laughter.

“You guys have no respect!” Sebastian snapped.

Sebastian felt his status slipping and shot Sierra a glare. “Oh, so you can understand orca? Then you tell me. Why would they give me the dolphin and stingrays, huh?”

“Wait a sec,” Sierra deadpanned, raising her hand. “Who said they were for you? They obviously brought the dolphin and stingrays for me.”

As soon as Sierra finished, the orcas in the water burst out with cheerful calls.

“That’s right! We gave them to the pretty human, not you, fish butcher!” the orcas chirped.

Sebastian heard the orcas’ melodious calls, and his scalp tingled.

He suddenly felt unsure of himself.

He swallowed nervously and said, “You’ve never even been here before. How would the orcas even know who you are? And why would they bring you gifts?”

Sierra shot back, “The orcas brought me gifts, but all you got was a face full of seawater. Looks like I’m just a better person than you.”

The orcas in the water chimed in, “Totally!”

Sierra kept going, “And honestly, the orcas clearly don’t like you. You must’ve really done something to tick them off.”

The orcas echoed, “For sure!”

With Sierra and the orcas tag-teaming him, Sebastian was left speechless, totally shut down.

Especially when Sebastian met Sierra’s probing gaze, he froze, thinking in disbelief, ‘Did Sierra actually see through me?’

By the end, Sebastian had totally lost it. “I have no idea what you’re talking about! If you keep making stuff up about me, I’ll get my lawyer to throw you in jail!”

Sierra just shot back, not bothered at all. “Guess that’d make it an international dispute, huh?”

Her casual responses just pushed Sebastian over the edge. He tried to speak Elyrian, but Sierra pretended not to get it. Then Hustralian, but he fumbled so badly that he was about to explode.

Finally, he just snorted, walked off in a sulk, not even caring about his job anymore, leaving everyone exchanging awkward

glances.

Meanwhile, the Hustralian experts were totally unfazed, acting like nothing ever happened. They even started chatting with the Elyrian crew, asking for a small boat so their own team could go film the orcas up close.

The Elyrian team just had to roll with it.

Just because Sebastian was an airhead didn’t mean the rest of them were.

Hustralians were basically born to hustle, living in a constant grind. No way their bosses would ever send a bunch of rookies who didn’t know squat.

Hustralia had got so many young prodigies. If they could drive Sebastian to the brink, they must be something special.

Truth be told, most of the Elyrian crew already had a pretty good idea about what was up with Sebastian.

Afraid that if word got out, it’d spark some serious international backlash, they had no choice but to do whatever Sierra asked.

It didn’t take long before they had a small yacht prepped, just enough room for the whole Hustralian expert team.

The Elyrian staff looked uneasy. “Ms. Sierra Sterling, there’s only one yacht, and it’s packed. Our crew won’t be able to get any shots.”

Sierra held up a hand, cutting them off. “Don’t worry about it. We’ll do the filming ourselves.”

“But…” The Elyrian staff hesitated. Orca pods didn’t show up every day. If they got some footage, it’d be a jackpot for their documentary.

But if they agreed, Sebastian would totally lose it.

Just as the staff was still torn, a tall man strode over. He had sharp, clear features and a straight nose. Even with a red life jacket thrown over his suit, he carried himself with an undeniable sense of authority.

“Give the cameras to the Hustralian expert team,” the man ordered.

His words came out in perfect Hustralian.

The staff, who understood Hustralian, blinked in surprise and, without missing a beat, handed the equipment to Ethan and

Mark.

Sierra found herself staring at the man who’d just walked up, caught off guard for a moment.

But the man just gave her a subtle nod and said, “Sierra, long time no see.”
