Chapter 114

Chapter 114

The guy in front of Sierra looked super young, and he even seemed to recognize her. But Sierra wracked her brain; she just couldn’t remember ever meeting this guy.

Plus, judging by the sharp suit and dress pants he had on under his life jacket, he was definitely not a wildlife ranger.

With all that gel in his hair, he looked way more like a businessman.

When the man saw Sierra, he grinned, “I’ve changed so much. It’s no wonder you don’t recognize me. Name’s Coleson Peters.”

Sierra stared at him in shock. “Wait? You’re Coleson?”

Sierra’s eyes widened in disbelief as the name sank in.

She quickly pulled herself together and blurted out, “Wow, I never thought you’d change this much. Back in high school.”

Thinking about how he looked back, Sierra hesitated, not sure how to continue. ‘Honestly, saying it out kinda hurts his pride,’ she wondered.

But Coleson didn’t seem to care at all. “I only shot up after I went abroad in senior year. Been keeping up with workouts ever since. I’m way healthier than I used to be.”

Coleson was born with a silver spoon, but back in senior year, he was this skinny, underdeveloped kid who got picked on all the time. After he switched schools, he and Sierra ended up as desk mates for a whole semester.

Coleson was super insecure, his grades were terrible, and he had no shot at college, so he just decided to go abroad to study.

Back then, Sierra was totally focused on her studies and didn’t even own a phone, so they lost contact completely.

Sierra hadn’t thought they’d run into each other here today.

Coleson explained, “My dad’s business has really taken off these past few years. This boat belongs to me, and my family is the main backer for this documentary. If Sebastian tries to give you a hard time, just brush him off.”

Sierra didn’t hold back. “Alright, since Hustralians are investing in this documentary, you can count on me. I won’t let your

side lose out.”

Coleson watched as Sierra climbed onto the yacht, with Mark and Ethan behind her, fiddling with their cameras.

What Coleson didn’t mention was that even though the experts on camera were from Elyria, most of the documentary’s controlling shares were actually held by Hustralians.

After all, Hustralians were always looking for business opportunities, no matter where they were.

As Sierra headed off, Coleson waved at her. “Be careful out there.”

Sierra nodded, fired up the yacht, and headed straight for the orca pod.

The experts on the boat watched in surprise as Sierra’s yacht made its way toward the center of the sea. The orcas that had been circling the ship couldn’t help but follow her, looking all reluctant to be left behind.

They swam desperately, letting out long, echoing calls as they tried to keep up. The orcas cried out, “Don’t go, come back!”

The orcas surrounded Sierra’s yacht, their smooth heads poking above the waves as they fixed their gaze on her with those

tiny, anxious eyes, worried she might take off at any moment.

‘Seriously, these guys aren’t the infamous troublemakers of the ocean at all. They’re just big sweethearts, Sierra thought to herself.

Seeing how adorable the orcas were acting, Sierra couldn’t resist waving at the nearest little orca.

The little orca’s eyes shone even brighter in the shimmering water as Sierra waved at it.

It wagged its tail with excitement, swimming right toward her and bragging to the rest of the pod, “Did you see that? The pretty miss called me over. She likes me, not you bunch of dummies!”

“Who are you calling a dummy?” one of the other little orcas snapped, clearly annoyed.

“Whoever answers is the dummy, duh!” the little orca Sierra had waved over replied, giving a smug little flip of its tail.

Sierra couldn’t help but smirk at the little orca’s cocky voice.

Orcas were as smart as a fifteen-year-old kid, and they got more than sixty ways to talk with sonar alone. But they mostly use all that brainpower to roast and tease each other.

Basically, if an orca wasn’t busy trash-talking another orca, it was probably on its way to do just that. Sure enough, the rest of the orcas instantly started grumbling.

“Oh, like you’re one to talk!” one of them snapped. “Your brain’s as mushy as a jellyfish! Last time we let you play the bump game with the baby humpback, you knocked it all the way onto the beach, almost got it beached!”

“Now the humpback’s mom won’t let any of us near her kid, and it’s all because your fish-bumping skills suck!” another orca huffed.

The little orca got totally roasted, and Sierra could practically see the embarrassment written all over its face.

The little orca glanced at its buddies, then at Sierra, wishing that it could just grow human hands and cover their mouths.

‘Sierra’s human. She probably can’t understand us, right?’ the little orca thought. It snuck another peek at Sierra, just to be

sure.

Sierra raised an eyebrow.

‘Honestly, there’s just something about black-and-white animals; they all kinda have the same vibe, Sierra mused.

Each one was goofier than the last, and their faces just kept getting more ridiculous.

Seeing the little orca acting all cautious, Sierra decided to mess with it a little. She put on a look like she’d just figured something out and teased, “So you’re really that silly, huh?

“No wonder orca mom was after you. Maybe I shouldn’t call you over. Maybe I should call the smartest orca instead.”

“No,” the little orca wailed.

The little orca’s mind went totally blank. Getting called dumb by Sierra was bad enough, but now she was actually going to leave it behind.

The little orca shot toward Sierra like it was gunning for a gold medal.

As it swam, it cried out, “Please don’t! I’m super smart, really! You can’t just leave me behind.”

Its plaintive cry rang out, filled with worry and heartbreak.

The experts on the boat had no clue what was really happening. They thought the little orca was about to go after Sierra, and all of them sucked in a nervous breath.

Sierra caught on, too.

Orcas weren’t the biggest beasts in the ocean, but they totally ruled the waves. They tossed dolphins around just for kicks, and when they went full throttle, one had better watch out.

If that little orca kept barreling toward them like this, their yacht was pretty much guaranteed to flip.

Sierra’s face fell, panic flashing across her features as she yelled, “Wait! Stop right there. If you come any closer, this boat’s gonna flip!”

The elder orca caught on to the danger and rushed over to the little one, looking just as anxious. But it was already too late.

The little orca was practically within reach, just a few feet away.

It tried to stop as Sierra said, but its tail just wouldn’t cooperate; it couldn’t slow down at all.

“Ah!” the little orca shrieked, pure panic in its voice.

“I can’t stop!” it wailed, frantically flailing its tail, trying to force itself to slow down.

But in the very next moment, the young orca crashed its big head right into the tiny yacht.

Bang! The boat rocked violently, and seawater was flooding in.

Sierra tried to steady the boat, but the controls were shaking so wildly that her hand slipped off. She plunged straight into the sea.
