Chapter 126

Chapter 126

Gunshots rang out, mixed with the crackle of gunfire and smoke.

No one expected Sebastian to show up suddenly.

Luckily, the moment Sebastian pulled out his gun after showing up, Sophie yanked Sierra aside.

The bullet struck the rocks, and a pungent white smoke burst from the muzzle.

Seeing what was happening, the wildlife rescue team quickly put Sierra in the middle, protecting her from all sides.

Sebastian couldn’t help but laugh at the sight. “Hustralians really are a tight bunch. Even when you can barely protect yourselves, you’re still worried about your friends.

“Not that it matters. You’ll all be taking a trip to hell together soon anyway.”

As soon as he finished, the town’s fishermen, hearing the alarms blaring and drones buzzing overhead, came rushing over with steel forks in hand.

Everyone kept a wary eye on the wildlife rescue team.

“Who are they?” one of the fishermen demanded.

As he spoke, the fisherman suddenly spotted the black cameras in Ethan and Mark’s hands, his eyes narrowing. “Are those cameras? Who said you could take pictures? Hand them over, now!”

Ethan quickly handed his and Mark’s cameras to Sierra and Sophie.

Sophie drawled, “You keep them yourself. If I have to protect both the cameras and you guys later, that’s not exactly

convenient.”

Ethan was speechless.

‘Oh, right,’ Ethan thought, suddenly remembering that Sophie and Sierra were the real badasses when it came to fighting.

So Ethan handed the cameras to Timothy, who was practically shaking in his boots.

Timothy clutched both cameras to his chest, his voice quivering. “Sophie, even you can’t take on Sebastian; he’s packing

heat.”

Sophie gave Timothy a sidelong glance and pulled a military knife from her cargo pants pocket.

The cold gleam of the blade flashed, nearly making Timothy flinch.

He quickly clammed up, worried that Sophie might just take him down with her if she snapped.

Timothy retreated to Sierra’s side, hoping to feel a little safer.

But then Sierra stepped forward too, tossing back, “Keep the cameras safe,” before heading off.

Timothy was speechless.

‘Man, everyone’s so gutsy, and I’m just the scaredy-cat here! Timothy thought.

Before Timothy could get a word out, the others quickly formed a line in front of him, making sure he was safely tucked behind them.

Chapter 126

Sierra kept her eyes locked on Sebastian’s gun and asked, “How did you know we were here?”

Sebastian grinned, full of himself, “Coleson stocked up enough food for a month, no way he’d suddenly run out.

SA

“If he wanted to stay at sea, he could’ve just called a supply boat. But instead, he sailed for hours to the shore. That’s way too suspicious.

“This morning, I had the hotel staff open up your rooms, and just as I thought, you were all gone. Hustralians are clever. I knew you must’ve caught on to something.”

Sebastian raised his gun and said, “Just hand over the cameras, and I’ll let you walk away.”

Sierra let out a cold laugh.

Sebastian’s words sounded nice, but everyone knew he was all talk; his promises meant nothing.

Even if they gave up the cameras, Sebastian would only wipe them out even faster.

“Dream on!” Sierra snapped, her voice icy. “Sebastian, all the filthy things you and Kill Cove have done will be brought to justice one day.”

“Once you’re all dead, nobody will ever know what went down here!” Sebastian said with a twisted grin.

Then, something seemed to click for Sebastian, and he laughed, “Just like that Hustralian couple and the Silvanian fifteen years ago.”

Alex’s face darkened as he snapped, “So their deaths really weren’t just some freak accident!”

Sebastian glanced at Alex, his brows knitting for a moment before he relaxed and flashed a mocking smile.

“Oh, you’re their kid, aren’t you? Damn, you really do take after them,” Sebastian said.

Sierra quietly turned on the micro camera clipped to her collar.

Sebastian didn’t notice a thing. He was clearly savoring the moment, boasting about what happened fifteen years ago. “Honestly, I should thank those two. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Alex’s face darkened.

Ethan grabbed Alex’s wrist tightly and whispered, “Don’t do anything reckless.”

Alex gritted his teeth. “Sebastian, what the hell are you trying to say?”

“Hustralians are always talking in riddles, aren’t they? Can’t you figure it out?” Sebastian clicked his tongue, clearly relishing the moment. “I’m the one who killed that Hustralian couple.

“Thanks to them, I got noticed; otherwise, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Sebastian was a local here, born and raised in this town.

At first, he worked his tail off to get into college, but his career went nowhere. He hated how his family kept killing dolphins every year, just like the old generation.

But when he came back and watched millions roll in, he started thinking those dolphins were born to be their cash cows.

But the good times didn’t last.

The mass slaughter caused the dolphin and fin whale numbers to nosedive, which drew the attention of a Hustralian couplé and a Silvanian investigator.

Chapter 126

Just like you guys now, they tried to escape with video evidence in hand.

But if they managed to get out, the town’s secrets would’ve been blown wide open.

So Sebastian took matters into his own hands, he killed the Hustralian couple himself, and the Silvanian got his head bashed in. His family’s still clinging to hope, refusing to give up on him.

Honestly, it would’ve been better if he’d just died. Keeping dragging his family through was all this misery.

Sebastian kept talking, “Look, this whole thing isn’t all on me. Your parents wouldn’t give up the evidence, and they even let. a super-rare pink dolphin escape. Seriously, do you think those Hustralian couple didn’t have it coming?”

Just thinking about it made Sebastian’s blood boil.

Most of the dolphins that they caught got shipped off to foreign buyers. The ones that survived and looked pretty enough were trained and sold off to circus owners.

Pink dolphins were almost impossible to find. After all that trouble, they finally caught one, and the Hustralian couple just let it go! It still pisses me off!

“You bastard!” Sierra couldn’t help but yell. “Elyria gives fishermen a few months every year to fish so they can make a living, but you guys are so greedy that you just slaughter dolphins like it’s nothing!”

“So what?” Sebastian sneered.

Sebastian just shrugged, his eyes full of mockery. “Story’s over. You, Hustralian do-gooders, can go keep that couple company in the afterlife.”

Sierra stepped forward, fearless. “Are you really gonna shoot? You’re seriously underestimating who I am.

“If anything happens to my team or me today, Hustralia will make sure to get to the bottom of this. And Coleson isn’t stupid; he knows exactly where I went. If I don’t show up tonight, you know what he’ll do.”

Sebastian’s expression shifted.

He’d killed before, fifteen years ago, so adding a few more bodies didn’t faze him. The ocean changed fast, wiping out the evidence would be easy.

But Coleson was a whole different story.

His family’s shipping empire was famous all over the world. If anything happened to Coleson, his family would tear the world apart to get answers.

And if Coleson managed to escape, the town’s dirty secret about the dolphin massacre would blow up for everyone to see. That was what gave Sierra her edge.

Sebastian realized he was cornered.

His swagger vanished in an instant. Watching Sierra close in, unfazed, Sebastian raised his gun and fired a warning shot at her feet. “Don’t move! Stay back!”

Sierra paused for a moment, then strode forward. “Death doesn’t scare me. What’s got you so rattled? Just pull the trigger if you think you can handle it.”

Sebastian swallowed hard.

He couldn’t bring himself to shoot Sierra, so he just kept popping off shots at her feet, one after another.

Sierra walked through it like nothing had happened.

Chapter 126

Sebastian’s eyes went bloodshot as he said, “I said, stay back! Don’t think I won’t blow you away!”

Suddenly, Sebastian jerked his arm up and aimed the gun right at Sierra, squeezing the trigger. But the gun jammed right then and there.

Sebastian’s face went very pale as he stared at Sierra in horror.

Sierra smirked, “Bullets aren’t free, you know. Look at you, blew through all your ammo. Now all that’s left for you is a beating.”

As soon as she finished, Sophie shot forward like a powerful, agile leopard, closing the gap to Sebastian in a single bound.

Sophie shot her leg out with brutal force, nailing Sebastian with a savage kick.

He got launched several feet, tumbling across the ground until he slammed into the rocky cliff, and blood gushed from his

mouth.
