Chapter 134
Chapter 134
Sierra led the sea animals back to Hustralia.
During the journey, many ships tracked their course, arriving one after another with supplies and medicine.

In just three days, Sierra had nearly drained all her savings, even the ten million that Henry and Thomas had managed to get for her.
However, even with all that, the daily flood of pricey medicine was still way too much for her to handle.
Everyone else on board was feeling the strain, too.
These experts were all about saving animals. They spent their million-dollar payouts on medicine, and before long, their funds were tight.
Besides, they were insanely busy every day. The medicine cost a fortune, and since the seawater hadn’t been tested yet, there was only so much the medicine could do.
Many smaller fish migrated along, some falling behind slowly, others succumbing to complications in large numbers.
With so many fish needing treatment, the crew worked day and night, barely catching a break.
The one thing that truly amazed them was how the sea creatures seemed to understand they were being rescued; every single one was perfectly calm and cooperative.
Finally, after three days, early one morning, Coleson’s ship had finally reached Hustralian waters.
The sea creatures were finally safe.
As soon as they arrived, military personnel, animal experts, and veterinarians from all over the country gathered at the shore.
Henry had arranged a protected area just for these creatures, and with the fishing ban in place, the fish would be safe here.
When Thomas saw the water absolutely packed with fish, his eyes lit up. He had seen plenty before, but this sight was truly spectacular.
He couldn’t believe that Sierra had actually managed to persuade a school of fish to migrate back home.
“Hi, Mr. Carter, Mr. Monroe,” Sierra called out as she stepped off the ship. The weight that had been pressing on her heart finally lifted.
Henry’s eyes were bloodshot as he looked Sierra over, thinking, ‘She was already so pale, and now, after less than a month away, she’s lost even more weight.’
Henry made up his mind to treat Sierra to a great meal as soon as they got back.
Sierra knew Henry and Thomas could take care of things from here. After so many days at sea, everyone’s legs felt like jelly the moment they stepped onto solid ground.
The moment Timothy’s feet touched land, they went weak, and ‘he toppled forward.
Sierra checked in with Henry and Thomas about the next steps, had a quick word with Leah, and finally headed off with the rest of the team to the local hotel to get some much-needed rest.
Sierra had been so swamped lately, and she hadn’t managed to get into the System to study even once. Her progress was still frozen at 99%, and she had no clue when she’d ever get it done.

Chapter 134
Back at the hotel, Sierra crashed onto the bed and was out like a light.
It wasn’t until the next day that Thomas let her know the results of the wastewater analysis were finally in
Thomas sounded both furious and dead serious.
Sierra opened the online report, scanning it line by line. Her heart sank as she took a deep breath.
It read: [Iodine-129, Carbon-14, Cobalt-60, beta particles, and gamma rays.]
Sierra took a deep breath.
Not long after, Thomas called again, sounding even more serious. “Sierra, we’ve set up a medical check-up for all of you. Come to the hospital when you can.”
“Okay,” Sierra replied. She hung up, packed her clothes, but her emotions were all over the place.
As Sierra pushed open the hotel door, the rest of the team stepped out. Judging by their pale faces, she figured they must have seen the report as well.
No one said a word as they made their way to the hospital.
Fortunately, the test results showed no major issues. Still, to be on the safe side, Henry and Thomas decided to suspend all activities for the wildlife rescue team.
For the next three months, everyone would need to go in for weekly check-ups at the hospital.
As for the other experts, after the Hustralian government made sure they were all fine, they arranged a chartered plane to send everyone back home.
Amplified by domestic media, the report quickly spread across the globe.
First came Kill Cove, then insoluble wastewater. Now, Elyria was roasting under the world’s scrutiny.
None of them ever expected that a Hustralian could wield such influence, exposing their wrongdoing with such ease.
Elyria was facing intense condemnation internationally, while back home, people were boycotting all Elyrian products.
[Damn, I used to hype up their cosmetics. I’m not buying their stuff ever again.]
[Do they really think the ocean can just take anything? This is toxic waste, not even regular sewage. All that just for some cash, huh?]
[They never change. People went to see for themselves, and they’re still dumping.]

[They are total monsters. Kill Cove was wild enough, but this is next level. If Sierra hadn’t exposed them, who knows when the world would have found out?]
[Funny thing is, their sites are all cursing Sierra. She took all the big sea creatures to Hustralia, and even the little ones were gone. Now their fishermen can’t catch anything and are about to go broke.]
[Serve them right. They lived off the ocean and chose their own destruction.]
[And get this. News outlets in Elyria traced the captured sharks. Some were sold, some were sent to schools as whale meat, but people can’t digest the stuff in dolphin meat; eating it over time is toxic.]
[I really hope the experts who had to spend all that time in the water are alright. They were practically soaking in it every day just to help the animals.]

Chapter 134
Sierra finally looked away from the comments on her phone.
Amberty was an inland city, so for the next phase, only experts from the coastal regions would be responsible for looking after the sea animals.
Leah hated seeing Sierra leave.
Maybe it was the crazy expensive meds Sierra bought, but even though Leah’s skin wasn’t back to normal yet, at least it had stopped falling apart.
“Sierra, can’t you stay with us a little longer?” Leah asked, its voice thick with tears.
“I’m so sorry, Leah,” Sierra replied softly. “I’ve still got a ton of work to do, so I can’t stay.”
Leah knew Sierra was super busy. It didn’t want to make things harder for her, but it also hated the thought of Sierra running herself ragged just for them.
It noticed that Sierra had been much more haggard.
Leah pressed its cheek against Sierra’s and said, “Okay, Sierra, just go. We’ll take care of ourselves. I’ll be good and listen to Mom, and I’ll look after Finn, too. Eat more fish after you leave. I’ll catch some for you.”
Just as Sierra was feeling all touched, Leah blurted out, “Do you guys have seals here? I’ll catch a few for you. They’re seriously delicious.”
Sierra’s lips twitched, and she quickly cut her off. “Sweetie, we don’t eat protected animals.”
Leah’s eyes went wide in shock. “Are those dumb things protected? Why bother? They’re so useless. You might as well let them rot in the water.”
Leah went on ranting again.
After about ten minutes of Leah’s complaining, Ethan, who’d been waiting in the driver’s seat, gave a honk from afar.
Sierra knew it was time to go. She gave Leah’s head a gentle pat. “Leah, I can’t wait to see you again.”
The more she said, the harder it would be to leave, so Sierra said nothing more. She stood
up
and turned away.
Leah watched Sierra walk toward the black car, its eyes filled with sorrow and longing, its gaze following the car as it drove
away.
It wasn’t until the car disappeared from sight that Leah finally swam off into the ocean.
It hoped that it had grown up enough to handle things itself next time they met.
It wanted to be strong enough to protect its mom and the whole pod.
It thought, ‘What is Finn thinking? It knew it’d be tough to see Sierra again, but it just kept moping around and crying in the ocean. Leah tried everything to get it to come say goodbye, but it just wouldn’t show up.’
Leah thought, ‘Finn lost its mom, and now Sierra has gone, too. It doesn’t have anyone left in the ocean. I guess I’ll have to look out for it from now on.’
