Chapter 137
Chapter 137
Natalie was dazed. A sharp sting shot through her forehead as tiny grains of sand scraped her skin, each scrape sending a jolt of pain.
There was no blood, but her skin was torn and raw.
Elliot let go of Natalie, grinning with satisfaction. “This shows more sincerity than last time, when you took off your clothes on my bed.”
Natalie’s face went ghostly pale. She thought, ‘No. Don’t mention that.’
Shawn frowned upon hearing this. “Elliot, do you really think the Sterling family won’t dare touch you?”
“I’d like to see who does.” Leonard stepped out from behind Vivian, exuding a cold aura that contrasted sharply with Elliot’s wild energy, making him intimidating.
The current head of the Paterson family was Eric, Vivian’s husband, and Leonard was the heir.
Leonard and Elliot were very close; there had never been a clash between them.
Leonard’s sudden appearance left Shawn completely speechless.
Finally, Shawn muttered, “What does Mr. Elliot Paterson mean by that? Nat is a good girl. Why does he slander her like this?”
Elliot rolled his eyes. “I’m not like those people who twist a top student into a nobody from some worthless college.”
Elliot shot Shawn a pointed look, then jabbed a finger at Natalie, who looked like she’d seen a ghost. “I was planning to team up with Sierra and make her the global ambassador for my jewelry line.
“Natalie cut in. She just stripped and slept in my bed. It made me want to throw up
Elliot didn’t care at all while Natalie shook her head desperately on the floor, looking utterly disgusted.
Sharon’s eyes went wide in disbelief, instinctively defending Natalie. “Nat would never do something like that.”
Elliot sneered. “Don’t be so sure. Have you never heard of that? Like mother, like daughter.”
After a pause, Elliot suddenly remembered that Sierra was still Sharon’s daughter, so he added, “The only one who turned out great is the one you didn’t even raise for a single day. That just proves how bad you are as a mom.”
He thought, ‘Look at Vivian. She’s a bit of a performer, just like me, but she raised and educated me well. At least she knew right from wrong, never treating an enemy’s daughter as her own.
For Sharon, today was a disaster. She stared at Natalie, eyes wide with disbelief. “How could you do something like this just for an endorsement deal?”
“Mom, I swear I didn’t.” Natalie shook her head desperately. “I really didn’t.”
Elliot looked as if he were trying to drive her insane. “Oh, are you saying I’m making this up? Fine, just wait. I’ll drop the security footage in your family’s group chat for everyone to see.
Everyone was speechless after hearing that.
Natalie knew Elliot wasn’t bluffing. Her face went even paler, her lips quivered, and she just shrank back, totally defeated.
That was pretty much her admitting it.

Elliot let out a mocking laugh, glancing at the Sterling family. “Sierra is coming over to my place for dinner. I’m in a good mood, so I’ll let you off the hook for now.
“Later, I’ll send Mr. Jonathan Sterling the video of Natalie trying to seduce me. He’s got more brains than you two idiots, at least he won’t buy that ‘it’s all edited’ crap.”
Elliot turned to Sierra with a sudden grin. “Sierra, I’m cooking tonight. Come home with me for dinner, okay?”
Sierra was about to head home, but Elliot had been backing her up just now, and it felt a little off to turn him down.
Therefore, she nodded and climbed into Elliot’s McLaren.
Sharon finally snapped out of it, not even thinking about Natalie anymore, and tapped on the window. “Sierra, come back with us.”
“Mrs. Sterling,” someone said.
Sharon heard someone call her name and instinctively turned around.
Vivian, who hadn’t said much the whole time, was looking at her.
Vivian fixed her with a cold, warning stare. “I used to think every parent loved their kid no matter what, but after seeing how you treat Sierra, I know that’s not true.
“If you can’t do it right, don’t bother being her mom. There are plenty who’d love to be Sierra’s family.”
Vivian rolled her eyes and got into Leonard’s car in her heels.
Vivian thought, ‘Honestly, I’d love to be Sierra’s mom-in-law, but she just wouldn’t say yes. Sharon is such a fool. Even now, she’s still trying to have it both ways and acting all heartfelt.
‘She can fool herself all she wants, but there’s no way to fool Sierra.’
Vivian clicked her tongue, thinking, ‘Since Sharon missed her shot, now it’s my turn. Guess I’ll have to try harder.
Vivian slammed the car door and said to Leonard, “Let’s go home.”
When Sierra went to the Paterson residence, everything still felt a little unreal.
Eric heard Sierra was coming over and hurried home from work just to see her. When he finally saw her, he nodded with a warm smile. “I watched your livestream. You did great, Sierra.”
Elliot tossed his suit jacket to the maid, then strutted into the kitchen and pulled out an apron. Printed on it was a nude, muscular man, with flamboyant letters reading: Compliments made a good husband]
Elliot had no idea that, in Sierra’s eyes, he’d gone from serious professional to a total clown.
As Elliot walked out of the kitchen, he caught Leonard shooting him an exaggerated wink. He had no idea what was up, just fumbling with the apron, trying to find the strings to tie it around his waist, but after a while, he failed.
He caught Leonard’s eye twitching and shot him a worried look. “Leonard, what’s wrong with your eyes? Come on, the Paterson family is loaded. You don’t have to work your ass out.”
Leonard, Eric, and Vivian were all speechless.
Sophie didn’t hold back. “That apron is terrible.”

Elliot’s mind went Blank for a few seconds. He glanced down at his absurd-looking apron. He blinked and suddenly lost it.
Without a word, he turned and ducked back into the kitchen, staring at the wall covered in aprons, yet somehow couldn’t find a single one suitable for cooking.
He thought, ‘Damn.’
Elliot didn’t dare step out of the kitchen, terrified Sierra would catch another glimpse of his goofy side.
It wasn’t until all the food was ready that Elliot finally ditched the apron, bolted upstairs, and gave himself a full-body refresh with his trusty shower gel, shampoo, and face wash combo.
At the Sterling family’s dinner table, where everyone else was rocking casual wear, Elliot sat down looking like a total business pro. He even snuck a pair of Leonard’s glasses from the study.
Sierra sat next to Elliot, sneaking glances at him while they ate. After a moment, she figured she might as well look out for this overbearing man with his childish streak.
After dinner, Sierra said she needed to return to work.
Vivian didn’t insist on keeping her around this time; she just asked Elliot to give Sierra a ride back to the zoo.

When Elliot got back to the Paterson residence, he found the whole family gathered on the couch. The moment he walked in, they all looked at him.
Elliot immediately lifted his head high.
Vivian said without missing a beat, “Quit sticking your neck out like that. You look like a freak.”
“Mom,” Elliot said, totally offended. “How could you call your own son a freak?”
Vivian had just blurted it out, and she realized she’d gone a bit overboard. She was about to say something to smooth things over when Elliot suddenly put his hands together and did a dramatic bow.
He said, “Mom, I know you’re joking, right? If I were a freak, why would Sierra even like me?”
Elliot clung stubbornly to Vivian’s hand, looking serious. “Mom, I know what you actually mean.”
Vivian immediately recalled that her son had never learned how to talk properly. She tried to stop him, but it was too late.
Elliot said seriously, “You can call me funny or hilarious, but definitely not a freak. It’s not who I really am.”
