Chapter 151
Chapter 151
Emory’s gaze swept over the group, finally resting on Sierra for a moment. Emory said, “Don’t even think about trying anything. No one’s going to find you here.”
With that, Emory set the food down and said, “Daisy, finish your meal and come with me. Your mother-in-law’s coming to get you soon.”
Daisy’s eyes went wide, and she couldn’t hold back anymore. She burst into tears. “No, I want to go home. My parents are loaded. Why don’t you just ask them for money? They’ll give you whatever you want.”
Emory snapped, “If you won’t eat, then get out now.”
He was so sick of her crying all day. Her whining was driving him crazy, like his ears had grown calluses.
Emory’s face darkened, looking like he was about to hit someone.
Daisy caught the look in Emory’s eyes and shrank back, quietly slipping behind Sierra.
Sierra noticed and stepped to the side, shielding Daisy completely.
Emory shot Sierra a deep, mocking look. “Hiding won’t do you any good. Just remember, behave yourselves.”
With that, Emory left. Only after Emory was gone did Daisy finally let herself cry out loud.
Sierra walked over and put the bowl in front of Daisy. “Eat,” she said firmly.
Daisy hiccupped, saw it was her least favorite, boiled green beans again, and she nearly fainted, starting to sob even harder.
Daisy whimpered, “Sierra, there are sedatives in this. If we eat it, we’ll be completely powerless.”
Sierra’s face fell, and she set the bowl aside without a word. “Then nobody eats today,” she said firmly.
Sierra looked around at the group. “Trust me, we’re all getting out of here today,
Sierra dumped out the food, smashed the ceramic bowl with a sharp crack, and quickly palmed a tiny shard, hiding it away.
Daisy stared wide-eyed. “Sierra, what’s this for?”
Sierra replied calmly, “Just in case.”
Just then, Sierra heard a faint squeaking coming from the rat hole in the cellar. Then, the same rat poked its head out of the hole.
When Sierra saw the tiny tracker strapped to its back, she knew the rat had found Sophie.
“Sierra, I did what you asked!” the rat chirped.
After the rat finished, it suddenly remembered the guy who’d smacked it with a windshield wiper and spat in disgust. “Sierra, you have no idea,
“There’s this dude named Elliot, and he’s totally nuts. He looks all put together, but turns out he’s terrified of rats. And guess what he called me?”
‘Elliot?’ Sierra thought, genuinely surprised. She hadn’t expected Elliot to show up here at all.
The rat kept squeaking, “He called me a giant rat. Then he whacked me with a windshield wiper, almost sent me flying to my doom. And then he grabbed the thorns and started poking me, almost turned me into a pincushion.”

Sierra was speechless. Honestly, if it were anyone else, Sierra might not have bought it. But if it was Elliot, that was totally the kind of crazy thing he’d pull.
Sierra was just about to tell the rat to chill out when the cellar door opened again.
Emory called down from above, “Daisy, the buyer’s here. Get up here.”
Daisy trembled all over, her teeth chattering.

The little girl, completely innocent, hugged Daisy’s leg and looked up at Sierra with big, curious eyes. “Sierra, where are you going? Are you going home?” the girl asked sweetly.
Daisy broke down in tears again.
Emory’s patience wore thin, his voice harsh. “Getting bold, huh? Want me to beat you again?”
Daisy was trembling, biting down hard. “Go ahead and kill me! I’d rather die than be married off to some fool.”
Daisy realized she only had two choices: get sold off to some fool as his wife, or get beaten to death today.
Slow death or instant game over. But if she had to choose, she’d take the quick way out, better to die fast than be sold off.
With that thought, Daisy set her jaw and stood her ground, refusing to move an inch.
“You wanna die, huh…” Emory growled. Emory said that and immediately moved to head down into the cellar.
Just as he was about to go down, a panicked voice called out from behind him.
Upstairs, Emory spun around to see his younger brother Darius rushing over, panic written all over his face.
“What’s got you all worked up?” Emory snapped.
Darius was gasping for breath, and as soon as he could speak, he blurted out, “Emory, we’ve got trouble. The cops are coming this way.”
Emory’s face went pale. He shoved the stick into Darius’s hands and ordered, “Get down there and keep an eye on them. Don’t let any of them out.” With that, Emory took off.
Sierra had never met Darius before, but judging by his face, he had to be Emory’s brother. They really did look alike.
Meanwhile, the moment the other women in the cellar heard the word “police,” hope flashed in their eyes.
“Quit staring!” Darius barked.
Seeing that spark of hope, Darius couldn’t resist crushing it. “Honestly, cops come snooping around here all the time, but they never find squat.”
Darius watched, almost enjoying it, as the hope drained from their faces.
But when Darius looked at Sierra, her eyes were shining, almost sparkling with mischief, and a smirk tugged at her lips.
“Why are you smiling?” Darius asked, looking confused.
Her grin just got wider. Sierra said, “Don’t you realize you’re all by yourself now?”
Darius frowned. “What do you mean?” Before he could finish, Sierra was on him in a flash. The next second, the sharp shard of ceramic stopped less than a fist’s distance from his face.
Just when Darius thought he was in the clear, Sierra plunged the shard straight into his eyes.

Chapter 151
Meanwhile, after Emory had covered up the cellar entrance, Sophie arrived with the police.
Emory immediately plastered on a groveling grin, bowing and scraping as he asked, “Officer, is there something I can help you with?”
Before he could finish, a man in a sharp suit strode forward and whipped out a photo from his pocket. “Give me the person in this photo,” he demanded coldly.
Emory’s eyes went wide. He recognized Sierra, the one he’d just bought this morning. Panic shot through him.
He couldn’t help but think, ‘David said Sierra was from Amberty. Why are the cops here so soon? This doesn’t add up. Just who is Sierra, anyway?’
Emory was sweating bullets inside, but kept his poker face, putting on a confused look. “Officer, I really have no idea what you’re talking about. Is the girl in the photo missing? But I’ve never seen her before.”
“Never seen her?” Elliot growled, his teeth clenched.
Emory nodded frantically. But the next second, Elliot drop-kicked him across the room.
Elliot’s face was dark as hell, like a demon. He stomped on Emory, who was sprawled on the ground. “Don’t give me that crap. Our tracker was here for half an hour. You really expect me to believe you never saw her?”
Emory froze, his whole body going stiff. ‘Sierra actually had a tracker on her?’ Emory thought, stunned. But he quickly realized something didn’t add up.
Sierra had already been held for seven or eight hours. The tracker couldn’t have only been here for half an hour.
Besides, when he’d put Sierra in the car, he’d searched her all over and didn’t find any tracker at all.
‘These people must have gotten it all wrong,’ Emory thought, feeling a sudden boost of confidence. Emory’s confidence shot up instantly.
He started yelling, “I told you, I don’t know Sierra. Are you guys crazy or what? Even cops can’t just beat people up like this! Give me your badge number, I’m reporting you.”
But as he spoke, Emory suddenly noticed Elliot’s grin getting wider and more sinister, sending a chill down his spine.
Elliot loomed over Emory and suddenly asked, “When did I ever say the person in the photo was named Sierra?”
