Chapter 208 The White Tiger’s Broken Paw
Sierra watched as the massive takins bounded down the mountain in just a few leaps, and couldn’t help but make a face.
But soon, a string of tiger roars pulled Sierra’s focus right back.
Sierra found some white tiger droppings by the trees. As she kept moving forward, the roars got louder and more frantic.
Finally, they reached a huge cave carved out by nature itself.
A white tiger fixed its fierce, gleaming eyes on them, staring straight at the group without blinking.
The tiger’s roars were so loud they felt like they were about to pierce everyone’s eardrums.
Emery and Felix instinctively clapped their hands over their ears.
But Sierra and the wildlife rescue team didn’t stop. Every one of them had a tranquilizer gun in hand.
Sierra led the way, with Sophie and Ethan right behind her. The third group consisted of Mark, Alex, and Timothy.
As Sierra walked forward, she called out, “White tiger, we’re here to help you.”
When the white tiger finally recognized Sierra, its roars dropped off sharply. It kept letting out a guttural warning growl, fixing its intense gaze on Sierra.
Then, it slowly rose to its feet and emerged from the shadows.
They were less than thirty feet apart. Even with tranquilizer guns at the ready, there was no way they could knock out the white tiger instantly.
Emery swallowed nervously.
But soon, he spotted the white tiger’s hind leg.
Back when the tiger first came for help, its paw and tendons were still barely harging on by a strip of tissue. But now, everything below its thigh was gone; just bare bone, rimed with frost.
Emery drew in a sharp breath.
Hearing the noise, the white tiger locked eyes with Emery and finally snarled, “Don’t come any closer. I don’t trust your kind!”
But Sierra replied, “White tiger, you do trust humans. Don’t these people behind me look familiar? He helped you earlier today, and you came to them for help too.”
The white tiger’s gaze turned somber as it fell silent, studying them, lost in its own thoughts.
Sierra continued, “It took me eight hours to get down from the mountain to the spot where you were injured. After you left, my team and I spent another four hours searching for you. We’re truly here because we want to help you.
“You probably know your body can’t hold out much longer. Your mate fell into a trap and died not long ago, and now your cub has no one to nurse him. If you die, your little one will be lost, too.”
Sierra could hear a faint, high-pitched cry echoing from inside the cave. It was the sound of the white tiger cub.
Sierra thought, ‘Thank goodness. The cub is safe. That means there’s still hope.
She said, “Your cub still has a chance, and so do you. If you trust us, let us come in, and I’ll help you both. But if you don’t, we’ll leave you alone and never bother you again.”
With that, she turned to leave.
The white tiger just stared, completely dumbfounded.
It thought, ‘Wait, wasn’t she supposed to give me time to think?’
“Wait!” the white tiger called out
It hobbled forward a few steps, its voice heavy with exhaustion.
Sierra turned around, a playful smile curling at her lips. She exchanged a glance with Emery, who clearly hadn’t expected her to switch things up like that. Then she looked back at the white tiger and said, “Does this mean you trust us now?”
The white tiger let out a weary sigh and said, “I don’t have a choice. Please, save my cub.”
Sierra didn’t hesitate. She pulled a baby bottle and some goat milk powder from her backpack, then mixed up a bottle for the cub using warm water from her thermos.
The white tiger watched quietly from the side. When the rich scent of milk filled the air, its eyes widened in disbelief.
It honestly couldn’t figure out how Sierra managed to pull out all sorts of stuff from such a small backpack.
Once the milk was ready, Sierra slowly rolled the bottle between her palms. When the temperature felt just right, she

glanced at the white tiger and said, “I’m heading into the cave now.”
The white tiger didn’t say anything, which meant it had no objections.
Seeing that, Sierra walked right in, confident and without a second thought.
The cave was massive inside, and it felt a lot warmer than outside. It was pitch dark, so Sierra flicked on her flashlight and started looking for the cub.
But after just one sweep of the beam, Sierra’s face drained of color.
She bolted out of the cave with the bottle still in hand, ran straight to the white tiger, and started gagging.
